What helps me boost my FPS is running the utilities in the PR Launcher "support" button. They only help temporarily but boost FPS 5-20 or so depending on the map. Sometimes around updates files change and old saved files clash with the new ones.

This is my fix. Install 0.87 in bf 1.5. High frame rate and rock steady stability. No ctd's so far. Maps are stable because they are, I think heavily bug fixed versions. AI is good as well because its tweaked for SP (for example ability to place rally point with no squad around). Was making the mistake of playing .87 in bf 141 which does not have 1.5 memory fix - larger maps require that. Also started using the high memory windows boot switch (see trouble shooting forum) that, weirdly, no one had ever mentioned to me in years of pc gaming. That even improved performance in other games - ability to load high res textures and so forth.

'[R-CON wrote:Psyrus;1975062']It's really strange that people would complain about 1.1.1.0 making their frames drop, as from 1.0 -> 1.1.1.0 there were a few content additions, but for the most part there was a huge amount of optimization that occurred. So like tankninja (and me, and a bunch of testers), your FPS should have improved, at least marginally.
Mhm, they're all most definitely lying.

Psyrus isn't saying they aren't telling the truth, however it is quite puzzling considering the number of optimisations and also the reports of increased FPS amongst many others.

I recommend following these instructions

Yeah, seriously what is with the attitude these days [not specifically saxoni]? I guess I shouldn't expect civility on the internet, I suppose I just still naively cling to hope that PR players would be slightly above the maturity/comprehension level of your average internet yob.

I'm pretty sure this has been mentioned before by somebody else, but fps drops (at least for me) are accompanied by a drop in GPU usage. I was just playing a game on Fools Road, and for most of the game I was getting 40-50+ fps with ~90% GPU usage, but at one point when passing (and looking at) the Militia Fortress, it dropped to 20 fps with about 30% usage. I'm not sure of the number of players in the area at the time.

I'm not sure, but I don't think I've experienced drops like this as often since 1.1 though.

1.1.4 is unplayable for me. I have unstable ping and am getting constant freezing problems when ping is stable. I reset my internet connection and closed steam running in the background and the problem still persisted.

I very much doubt that has much to do with PR and it's latest update. As nothing has changed that could affect that.

Do you have your PRBF2.exe CPU priority set above Normal??

I had mine set to High and I was getting the exact same issue, my ping was a freezing roller coaster. It would roll back and forth between 16-300+ on the CIA server. Took it back to normal and totally fixed it.

I have an AMD 1100t BE x6 @3.5ghz and this tweak seems to have bad results for some AMD guys.

Severe lag problems occur on Sbeneh Outskirts. After a round of Sbeneh Outskirts the next map is unplayable from unstable ping.

Hey everyone! Seems i am back in the game :D Woohooooo!!!

So I got laptop, with a strong CPU, and weak videocard. After patch 1.0 i couldn`t get more then 30 average fps in any way (before, I had 60)

My problem was that Nvidia did not switch on, and i played on internal videocard. This happened because after 1.0 patch, they start use launcher and separate file prbf2.exe.
So i had to add it manully to the list in Nvidia 3d parameters and force it to use only discrete videocard.

btw, I could mention this before. My GPU temperature was not affected by the game, and load was 0% - but i thought its a bug.

btw, now i have only 60-70% GPU load and 55-60fps, with my weak 540M videocard. So looks like the game not as heavy as i thought.
If you got high GPU load, perhaps, you have even weaker videocard. My has 700 units in the test below. My internal Intel HD 3000 - only 300 units, which gives 25-30 fps average. So it feels like playability starts after 500 units.

Did anyone notice lower framerates since the last update? When the patch with the new Syrian map came out, a lot of the maps ran very smooth on my machine, sometimes much smoother than in previous versions. But ever since the patch with the snow map came out, framerates seem to have dropped considerably on many maps including Fallujah and Ramiel. Anyone notice this? Could it be the tweaks to the effects that are causing it?

I noticed a slight increase until I come within 500m of a group of 10+ people then my fps drop to less than 15.

Yeah, I get choppy framerates when I look in a direction with lots of people. This wasn't happening before the latest patch.

Fatalsushi, how was it before the Syrian patch?

I've had that problem since 1.0 came out, but I never got around to playing after the Syrian patch came out so I can't voice my own experience.

I noticed that overall performance dropped a lot after 1.0. Framerates seems to improve significantly after the Syria patch and most maps seemed very smooth. But after the winter Dovre patch, thinks got a little choppy again, especially when looking in a direction with lots of people on maps like Fallujah and Ramiel.

By the way, the Syrian map is absolutely awesome. You should definitely give it a try.

I concur, except for the part where the Syrian rebels are fighting MEC and not Bashar al-Assad's forces.

MEC is just a placeholder. The devs said they're working on a proper Syrian army.
