We know APC's don't transport infantry, so that leaves only choppers as transport.
ehrm wut?

Just hop in an APC with a Squad, rush towards the city from a direction where no TOW is able to kill you and jump off inside it near a T-Shape and there you go. A HAT will not have enough time to positon itself if you are fast with the APC. If there is a TOW or Tank somewhere on one of the hills covering, take it out first and then use the couple of minutes you got to get your asses inside there.

Keep the attacking INF busy until more squads arrive to help and then try to push through the city and defeat the enemy.

People who drive APCs are a-holes and don't transport infantry. This is such a common thing that it is taken for a proper behavior.

APCs play their on their own and do NOT coordinate their movements with other squads.

Talk about generalization of everyone in PR. Yes, every person who has ever driven an APC is an *******. [/sarcasm]

Go run a squad with integrated armor, perfect tactic for the map.

Replace the BMP-3 with the BMP-2M since IDF doesnt have any long range advantages anymore.

Change your tactics. Utilize CAS, armor, escort, transport.

My only feedback is that every time I have played Bijar, it literally always crashes the server. Pretty sure 100% crash rate at some point in the game. I think every time I played was on AAS Standard.

Kill this map kill it with fire or...put any other faction but the current IDF on it.

Its not a bad map its just I don't think the map maker knew one of the factions would be stripped of all scopes when he made it.
I think every map but gaza and maybe asad kal with IDF on it needs to be totally re done personally.

I'm not against giving the IDF flavor by making them a CQC orientated force like they are in real life but that means they need to be rebalanced to compensate.

Ok im fine with IDF not having scopes. But having attack choppers on those map right from the start is stupid. It just kills any starting rush or advance that leaves the base.

Since when did the developers turn PR into a asset whoring game? Its hard to do any movement as infantry when you have attack choppers raining down on you.

This map is perfect for IDF vs MEC, look at the IDF uniform and gear - green and brown, perfect colors for this map, it's hard to spot you, adapt and use it.
MEC uniform is yellowish so it's pretty easy to spot them(on this map).
No offense, but I think you don't like it simply becouse having no scope on such map is something out of your comfort zone.

The only layer that had attack choppers at the start was the LRG layer but I just changed that. You'll see the update in a future patch (probably in a few weeks).

Thanks for the feedback. :)

This. We just tried to play it 2 times on Hardcore server and it literally crashed 1 minute after cas spawned, both times. It was the Alternative layer. The exact same time, both times. Right after the havocs were warmed up and we were 50 feet in the air, it just crashes. Don't remember which map was played before the first crash, but the 2nd crash, Fallujah was played right before Bijar.

I just loaded up the ALT layer by myself in dedicated windowed mode and couldn't get it to crash. I flew all the helicopters, drove the tanks, etc. etc. but no crash. I was actually hoping it would crash so I could figure out what might be causing it.

So... if any of you run PR in windowed mode and get an error when a map crashes, please post that here. You won't get an error in full-screen but sometimes in windowed you do, and that can help me troubleshoot.

Thanks

Strangely, this, for me, is the one of the best infantry maps (along with Operation Archer and a few others) because it has diverse environments and lots of transportation (driving through canyons has been fun since Interstate '76). Not really a huge fan of all-urban, all-desert or all-forest maps.

Unlike, for instance, Kashan, which is almost flat, Iron Eagle's terrain is more interesting as it provides plenty of cover, lots and lots of room for flanking, hiding, surprising maneuvers, ambush opportunities all resulting in virtually infinite emergent gameplay / replay value.

My only criticism would be that although that little town is nicely done, the current layout often makes the combat being cententered around it for too long. The rest of the map is just too good not to be used more. If it were up to me, I'd add a couple more villages or industrial compounds elsewhere as control points.

Not if you are on the server Kerry, pro.
Or playing a map like Shijia Valley, where max view distance from cockpit is less than 200, imagine for gunner..and you can be seen from AA/AAV/STAT.AA before you even see them.
