Favorite HAT & LAT kits

Post by Christie.Front.Drive »

I'm sure this has been done before and probably a dozen times but it's impossible to search for. So to all my fellow anti-armor infantry out there: what's your favorite HAT and LAT?

My favorite LAT is the good ol' RPG-26. The Aglen never lets me down, and although with the sights I am in constant fear of enemy vehicles appearing exactly 100 meters away this only adds to the ecstasy of burning enemy armor to the ground. I've got a soft spot for the ERYX (by which I mean a hard spot), but favorite HAT is the SRAW.

Any tips and tricks, tactics and stories and whatever else you want is fair game in this thread. I love the smell of burning armor in the morning, and I know you do too, so let's get some good discussions going and may the battlefield be littered with smoking wrecks.

LAT- RPG7 with scope (Russian faction)
HAT- SRAW

I'm really looking forward to see SPIKE. It has WIP status for Polish Faction. And I think that it will be my #1. Someday...

I always take the alternate Russian LAT when I feel like I might need an extra shot to hit the target. Same for Americans, although I take the alternate there just because I like the sights better. Two extra shots is just a bonus.

Russian HAT - 2 rounds and easier to shoot long range than the USMC one
Russian ALT-LAT - also 2 rounds and also easy to use for long range (I like holdovers more than dialing in the range)

btw can someone tell me the zero-range for the Ironsights on the scoped RPG7? Also 200m?

The one with the sighting rifle? Yeah I don't really understand that one either.

Use the tracer round to figure out how high you need to aim relative to your target, then change to the type of ammunition you'd like to fire. It's very much like an SPG.

the numbers on the left of the reticle correspond to range in hundreds of meters. so yes the zero is at 200. I'm not entirely sure what the cross above the grid is for though judging by measurement it should correspond to somewhere between 50-75m

i really have no preference of my own. i just hate the MEC LAT, thats it. everything else i love and have great success with.

LAT kit, any rpg-7, i've had by far the most practice with them.
HAT kit, British hat kit.

I'm starting to like the SMAW.

Somehow, I find it easier with back-up sights.

LAT: RPG-7 with PGO-7 optic and x2 standard warheads. Love making those 499m shots!

HAT: I wan't to love the SMAW with all my heart. Unguided AT takes a special skill and is satisfying, and the spotting rifle adds to that. 3 rockets to fire is excellent. Yet I just can't stand the time it takes to change between spotting rifle and warhead, so for that I choose the RPG-7R Tandem warhead.

I managed to kill 5 German Pumas on Dovre by stalking them through the forests.

The Russian HAT has a special place in my heart. I love the feeling you get when you shoot a tank in the *** from 300 meters away and everyone is like "wow dude, awesome shot".

So satisfying.
