Then you haven't met the evil players ...
I was unarmed and then executed with an M60 because I am member of QRF and other players thought we killed too many players yesterday ;-)

I think the first day was very successful. Full server, no crashes, no bugs and lots of fun.

Thanks for the feedback guys.

And nice video Lamarr, thanks for recording.

We always get very different opinions... Some say the zombies should be more deadly, other say they're good as they are since players do get killed by them. Some say survivors are being too friendly and there isn't much of a threat from them, others say that there is too much pvp between survivors with shoot on sight mentality. With all these opposite opinions, it is hard how to balance the gameplay based on the feedback.

From what I noticed, even if you're often shooting on sight, it's quite hard to get many TK's since you either don't run into that many survivors or the TK's get divided between the members of your group. So at the moment, the humanity system settings are quite high, meaning you probably will never be swapped to the other team due to low humanity. I believe everyone that got switched to zombie, was switched for being killed by a zombie.

I will change the settings so that you really have to keep an eye on your points, so that the humanity system is more effective. However, pvp is important... it should be a mix of friendly survivors teaming up and groups of survivors killing each-other. While avoiding killing unarmed survivors aka fresh spawns.

Glad you guys enjoyed it, hope to see you again today.

I might get my stream up for the ones that want to take a look. Cheers

It is a fun game mode - good weapons were rare and made you happy, awesome setting to get to know the stranger that spawns next to you.

I felt like killing other survivors didn't have much of a purpose - zombies don't pose a big enough threat that you would have to kill a survivor to get the superior gun or patches. You can get more than enough patches from all these kits laying around and you can easily run away from zombies. It seemed like most of the survivor vs survivor kills were kind of just for fun.

The problem with the PvP is simply the fact that we are coming from PR which is ruled by teamwork. We rather unite us to a larger group and search for equipment together than trying to steal the equipment from the other survivors. It was interesting to watch how much role play and teamwork those groups, often more than one squad, got together by talking on local. I’m highly against increasing the number of slots since it’s only a 2km map...

I’ve to say everyone should give it a try. Very detailed and well coded minimod. Great gameplay, teamwork and complete new “PR” experience with the lack of equipment. Running around unarmed relying on your squadmates creates a new level of cooperation within the squad or the people around you.

Nice that we're getting so much footage from the beta. Huge videos though :D

It works best if you make a video with the highlights.

Anyway, the server will be open in about an hour, so I will jump on my twitch to answer any questions and show some stuff.

Feel free to jump in and interact: http://www.twitch.tv/0nil/

Yeah, when I make more I'll probably do highlights or clips. I was just kind of surprised at how big our group got and how long we surprised on our very first time playing. So I kind of wanted to show the whole thing :-o

Played the mod a bit yesterday. Really liked the flair it has!
The first half hour experiencing it was the best. Had 2 other people joining my squad who were completely new to it as well.
Together we searched for weapons, until we met a very agressive squad that was shooting right on sight. I wasn't really prepared because I didn't think of teamkilling?
After I spawned, I found that squad again, still unarmed, said hello, put my arms in the air and telling them that I'm unarmed. Sadly they didn't care and executed me.

Whenever I found a lonesome survivor I took him with me and my squad, forming up a even larger group. When we had the hippie-van driving around we were followed by zombies, coming off the road in the hurry and then by chance came into the arms of that ******* squad again. Sad story!

I guess the teamworking attitude is too present in me, I'll probably never start playing Day-Z.
I'm curious about my next steps in the mini-mod though, it's a very interesting experience.

Hm, that's interesting. I've only come across one person so far who wasn't friendly/shot on sight. Maybe I'm just getting lucky ;)

Even more fun times were had on the server today, this mod is looking awesome so far! Hope you're getting all the info and feedback you need Onil, keep up the great work!

Thanks for the feedback guys.

The humanity system is still WIP. I will make it more strict soon so that survivors can't constantly shoot on sight. Keep in mind that this is a Open Beta Test, meaning there is much to test both in terms of possible bugs/issues and in terms of game-play settings/features.

During this week, we are constantly analyzing the player behavior and stats so that we can improve the restrictions to moderate such behaviors. However, keep in mind that pvp is a big part of the game and you can't trust everyone you might come across.

Antol.PL wrote: Edit. Have some questions and suggestions here before today launch:

1. How much time we need to wait from end of the beta to PRZ integrated with PR?

2. Are you making some new features, like maps or something before the first release?
Or we need to wait only 1-2 weeks to get it again?

3. How it will be working in the future, because from what i know you are controlling weapons spawn etc. Any chance to get it automatically?

4. I would like to have Local Speech like it was before ( so enemy can hear you). Is this possible? Especially in PRZ where you need to be more quiet than regular PR. Maybe there should be only Local Speech (dont know if real survivors have intercom=Squad Radio :D ).

What do you think?
1. PR:Z will not be integrated into PR. It is a unofficial minimod and will continue to work as an addon.

2. We will be making new features, game-modes and maps AFTER the first release. Until then, our only concern is fixing bugs and tweaking settings.

3. The random spawner for the kits only needs to be activated by the admin once in the beginning of the round, after that it runs automatically until the round ends or server crashes. Since we want to have an admin present to guaranty the quality of the game-play and to analyze it in order to improve it, the admin will be present to activate the loot. It will continue to be like this for now.

4. We are looking into it but with local mumble being available/shared by both teams, it would disable the squad mumble if we simply remove the channels. In other to keep both, we need to mess about with the code which might take some time.

@ Beer, server will not run 24h, we have no admin to manage it.

Wasn't know how fast they're, but killed one in barack, got M4 with EoTech. Then searching for some scratch in last barack. ZOMBIE is running to me! Ok, lets get out of here. Moving back to the main gate with some zombies on my back. But then someone was running to me, without gun etc. I thought: it must be zombie! So i killed him, 3 seconds later i got shot in the back. ( -5 points...).
Next time was better. I found AK-47 with scope. NOW im badass, lets go to the city for hunting :D
Saw someone talking on local - that should be survivor! It was you Spectre. Then we found someone else, then next one and our group grown up to 8 players. I had hook, someone had medic. Almost everyone died on Apartments in a hilarious way :D For example, we're get stuck on the top of thoose two buildings. Me, Spectre and someone else was in this higher, next one (i think dukenukem) was on the other. I thought - lets throw a rope for him and rescue our brother! Rope connected our buildings but he fault :D
Some time later we meet a group of peolpe with Crossbows, but i died in the battle some minutes later with my medic kit (without epipens :( )...

Anyway, very good minimod, but i wasnt feeling any fear against other players. Maybe because of friendly-community from vanilla PR?
Haha, yeah! Precisely how it happened.
