Little Bird Able To Hold Small Supply Crate On Korengal Valley
Seeing hard it is to win on this map i think it be fair for Little Bird having a small crate so it can drop off supplies in such areas that he US Logi cannot reach and hit a hard Cache.

Re: Little Bird Able To Hold Small Supply Crate On Korengal Valley
I usually play on the insurgent/taliban side and support changes that give these factions more of a fighting chance but Korengal is one map where I've seen bluefor get trashed quite a lot. This sounds like a good suggestion to me. Logistics trucks just don't cut it on Korengal's terrain.

Mmm, i've never actually seen Blufor win on Korrengal; and as such don't often play it (as much fun as the map itself is) because of the lack of balance. This may be a nice little solution to this lack of balance.

Re: Little Bird Able To Hold Small Supply Crate On Korengal Valley
Perhaps this is a stupid question: Is it able to be written in code that the LB has a crate?
And now, we wait.....

Of course, they would just make a variant of the little bird that has the supply crate and use that on the map instead of the one that they use now.

It wouldn't be much help to the US as the Talib would simply just descend on wherever the LB would land, overrunning and destroying the firebase.
However, I don't see why it couldn't carry an ammo crate or two (not the larger Heavy supply crate or light supply crate) to resupply ammo to where ground vehicles cannot reach.

Re: Little Bird Able To Hold Small Supply Crate On Korengal Valley
I have mixed feelings about this. While I see OP's reasoning, I believe one of the things that makes Korengal so unique among all the other PR maps is it's extremely brutal ground and demanding ground combat. You can get cut off in small gullies, lose yourself in a bush on some hill, while also keeping the combat very focused and cramped. It is true that the map is heavily biased towards Opfor, while Blufor hardly gains the upper hand but the fact that you sometimes have to really chew yourself a way in and the rather hard supply routes is what makes the gameplay so bloody amazing. Some maps are more fun to play on with "broken" balance.
The LB supply drop might not change this "feel". It could even fresh up the flow of the game by being able to avoid common choke points and meatgrinders but as Mongol already pointed out, the size of the map doesn't support this. Most drop points would probably turn into a siege, bombarding the FOB from surrounding hills, or King Of The Hill type action, with Opfor storming a hill trying to take down that magic FOB up there.
Just my two cents, I'm doubtful about it but with some re-imaging and tweaking, an alternative supply asset might be possible and of good use.

Replace Little Bird with Blackhawk (M240Hs, not M134s). Crate problem and Little Bird problem solved.

nah the black hawk wont suite th korengal feeling. and it probably would be quite hard to land in tight areas with this big chopper (at least for me lol). i would say keep it like it is. build fobs in areas with good cover, like the vompounds near the river, and use the little bird to drop small squads around the cache. its way harder than it sounds i know, but i guess thats the challenge of korengalEddie Baker wrote:Replace Little Bird with Blackhawk (M240Hs, not M134s). I do agree the Blackhawk might be a little large for the conditions presented by the map. With few viable LZs I feel this would only be truly useful for resupply by air, which is the whole idea behind Eddie's post. I feel the LB is fine as is, and blufor having logistical nightmares is a good thing for at least one map wouldn't you think?
I only really see the BH being used to keep that fob overlooking the valley supplied with crates for possible mortar support, beyond that it would just be a beacon for taliban assaults (while fun, it makes a complicated situations even worse especially when considering public play).

It'd probably be more realistic, but from my experience you'd just end up with a 10minute wreck-machine with the BH on this map. It's current flight physics would just make it a nightmare on this map.Eddie Baker wrote:Replace Little Bird with Blackhawk (M240Hs, not M134s). Crate problem and Little Bird problem solved.![]()

In all honesty i'd rather even a chinook than a blackhawk due to its terrible flight characteristics. Stick with the little bird for now.[R-MOD]Mongolian_dude wrote:It'd probably be more realistic, but from my experience you'd just end up with a 10minute wreck-machine with the BH on this map. 2 Little Birds with Small Supply Crates.
The US has almost no chance on this map. The Vehicles except Humvees are useless.
Never seen US Win yet.

Sure it can have a small supply crate. Where are you going to put it?

There used to be little birds on this map. The techies would camp the landing zone. Cue pissing and moaning calling for admins and or Devs to do something about it so it was removed... After a couple of releases here we are.

What if it were to drop ammo crates instead of supply crates, it would be more feasible as they are smaller and lighter, and it would give a slight advantage to blufor forces, but not make it op.

Lets just add a black hawk or chinook, it would improve gameplay since its hard to win with us. And it wouldnt be unrealistic since us army in korengal valley actually gets assist by those assets. Also there could be an apache on alt layer.. The assets could be spawned by holding the outpost.

You know what would happen to those assets after they spawn/rounds starts?Blackburn92xBHD wrote:Lets just add a black hawk or chinook, it would improve gameplay since its hard to win with us. The apache has been discussed to death already, see the old threads for further information.
