Objects View Distance

Hello guys, I have a small problem.

I am working on some new map (which different from PR. maps) and there is something wrong for make me sad. I am new for mapping, so I missed making ''overgrowth'' for my map. I made trees as a objects like buildings, not as overgrowth.

The ''tree'' is known ''Pine''. I cannot see Pine trees after 350 meters (as buildings), they are gonna visible in far distance. :(

Changeing distance in Init.con is not effective.

When I change view distance of UNDERgrowth in undergrowt.con, then it works for undergrowth. But there is no such thing like ''overgrowth.con'' because I did not make it. I can't change it's distance from there.

Interesting thing is I have some maps and there is no ''distance'' problem in these maps for same trees, but there is a problem with my own map which Im working on. So problem cannot in ''Mod'', the problem must be in MAP. But where is it ?

May I get help guys, I need this help so much. I will take ''ss'' soon.

(Notice ; How can i create ''overgrowth'' files ? When I copy this files from other maps, then it will be ''collision'' crash in game lol)

have you tested to see what its like ingame? Sometimes things like overgrowth can draw for a much shorter range in the editor than ingame.

If you have a lot of overgrowth, then I would delete what you've placed down and re-paint it with the OG tool.

If not, you could look at cloning the object and then giving it a larger cull distance. This tut goes into lod and cull distances, but not cloning the object which you would need to do to include the modifications in your map, and then you would also need to pack the new, cloned object into your map too: https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f189-m ... ances.html

Yep I tried in game too.

I worked on this problem a bit time until this time. I couldn't create ''overgrowth'' files with Editor. When I create it, then there will be ''collision crash'' ingame. I searched what is collision crash problem in last 1 hour, and I found that there was 2 diffirent define for overgrowth (one of OG files, other is ''staticobjects'') then these 2 define fight each other until compiter RAM fulling :-? After this, game send me crash at collision and ''4 GB ram is full'' error.

Solution ? I deleted tens of thousands trees in staticobject.con (Yes the map like amazon).

So there is no collision crash anymore. I will make all of trees with Editor - Overgrowth.

The ''view distance'' sulition came here too with overgrowth.con, this ''.con'' file include distance spesifics. YAY :grin:
