Great game play tonight, best I've had in PR for a long time! Even teams, both lost and won, but the rounds were damn amazing. Thanks to all the admins, especially Lung, did a good job keeping people from going too crazy and keeping game play going!

Seconded. The Operation Barracuda round was really quick, but that'll sometimes happen with any amphib assault map. The Kashan and Khamisiyah rounds were close affairs.

We even lost Khamisiyah as US, but my sqd made out with 10k points protecting oil fields, clearing and capturing the southern bunkers with our close armor support, fighting off enemy jets while our blackhawks came for extract, and made it to the city, laid down a "beach head" in the southern part of the city, and fought a T-72 roaming around the mosque square before losing by 70 tickets or so. I need to start recording, that was one HELL of a match! ^^

We also took down 3/4 transport choppers with my LAT guy and the quad cannon on top of the control tower, and cleared at least 4 or 5 bunkers on Kashan. Needless to say we have bunker clearing down to a science now after tonight ;)

Decided not to stream this evening, since I spent most of the games I was in I was either admining or flying aircraft. A shame; I was doing some cool hovering attacks on airfield in Op barracuda with the huey. That rollout was pretty disastrous for the US team though...

Been playing almost exclusively on HOG nowadays. No major complaints; usually teams are good, sometimes a bit unbalanced with every other clan switching to the opposite team when we join. :P

One thing I'd like to see is less 4km asset maps and more inf/2km alt/inf layers. As an infantry player I feel like we arent getting any love during the times I play. Granted its not US peak times, so they might get played then, but more different maps is all im asking for.

Is HOG now running on mapvotes or maplist?

If it's running on mapvotes, why are there only a few maps in the maplist, at least last time I checked you only had a maplist of 20 maps.

mostly map votes but some admins let the maplist run without doing votes. we are going to cycle those maps each week for a variety. usually the first 3 to 4 as by then an admin is on and the list wont go all the way thru.

as for infantry maps, try and add your pick when admins ask for map suggestions and we will try to keep that in mind as well.

But if the infantry lay-outs are not on the maplist, how can we suggest them AND play them?

it used to be that way when using bf2cc, you had to load maps etc. With ad-framework all the maps are available, the list, i assume you saw on our website, is what is the default "play" list rather than a map list.

so, every map, every variant of the maps is loaded. in fact some of you may remember we had them all in the play list and it was horrible.

Been trying to suggest infantry maps a couple of times usually to just end up with Silent Eagle, Black Gold and like Beirut Large as the choices...

I love hog for life. Lol.

But when ever there is a vote...

Seems like

Gaza, Muttrah, Asad.

Honestly, I would say add like different maps in the vote.

Today we actually playd something different.

Thanks for the support, all. It's a pleasure having you on our server.

Matty and L4gi: as a pure inf guy myself, I share your pain. We're trying to mix it up wherever we can.

Our rotation for this week (as long as their are no votes happening):

Code: Select all

dragon_fly gpm_cq 16
xiangshan gpm_cq 64
operation_archer gpm_insurgency 32
pavlovsk_bay gpm_cq 128
khamisiyah gpm_cq 32
karbala gpm_insurgency 64
shijiavalley gpm_cq 32
op_barracuda gpm_cq 32
Kudos to Super_6_5 for modifying our rotation weekly.

Delfer wrote:Teams were really stacked tonight, but the admins(a lot of them were PRWars I think) seemed to be trying to mitigate it. They moved their clan over to the losing team and whoever was doing the maps played Pavlovsk inf layer which ended in a 2-0 loss, so obviously their balancing efforts had an effect. It was some pretty good admining.
I've actually been very pleasantly surprised by the PRwars guys in the last 2-3 weeks. I joined onto their team, with about 3 clans all stacked on the one side and just thought "that poor other team" and of course it ended in decimation for the other team...

But on the next round the PRwars guys took up the rage-quit spots on the other team and balanced the game really nicely.

So yeah, HOG and PRWars, please keep up the fantastic balancing... you're doing a great service to the community every time you take such selfless actions :)
