[Request] L801 Johan de Witt - Static - NL

Post by Glimmerman »

Hey fellas,

For a possible future Dutch Forces faction variation (were still in the planning phase) we are looking at implementing the RNLMC (Marines) once more.

Marines often come from the sea so for them to come from the sea we need a ship static as their main base. :)

A ship static that could host Amphibious operations as well as air assault and resupply is the L801 Johan de Witt.

As we dont employ any 3D modellers in our team we are looking for a community member who is willing to make this for us.

Keep in mind the following prerequesites:
The ship will need 3 to 4 interrior floors

Floor 1:
A wet dock from which to launch amphibious operations.

Image

Floor 2:
A path leading to the 4 davit's launching LCVP's (must be reachable from Floor 1 and Floor 3)

Floor 3:
Helicopter deck + hangar

Image

Floor 4: (optional)
The ships bridge

One extra model is required for the 2 x Goalkeeper 30mm CIWS systems located at the ships bow and on top of the hanger.
** but as a placeholder the USS Essex's Phalanx could be used.

I can provide you with enough reference material on any model required.

So any takers for this task?

*** Please keep in mind that it doesnt have to be a super detailed model but that if you want to model this for us you also will need to UV it and make LOD's!! ***

I found this freebee Sketchup model that i think can be used for dimensions and the basic shape:

Maybe its of any use?

*edit:

made a deck plan for all 3 to 4 decks:

So IRL the LCVPs are stored and boarded above sea level, and then they are lowered onto the water with those cranes?

If that is so, how will it work ingame?

Ye, but ingame I suspect they would be in the well dock since in r/l they do sometimes go in there to load up extra supplies or vehicles before heading off.

Also I would really not bother with a enterable Bridge level, would be just a waste of tris, LM space, not to mention the time to make. Just do the hanger to well dock.

yes in real life they are lowered by those cranes (Davits) they could be coded like in bf1942 where you push forward when you are at the helm of one and its dropped into the water.

but like Rhino suggests you might as well have then in the water.

same goes for the bridge remark
