Are JDAMS still in the game though? Last time i played Kashan, we got an artillery strike.Tit4Tat wrote: Plus, a good map to actually see a JDAM wipe out half the team....classic.

Re: What Happened to Kashan ?
Not missing Kashan one bit.
The map could use a update with more locations , bases, outpost or villages , more complex bunker layout *underground bunker , maybe abandoned airfield... Had some great game plays in kashan... but it's too big with few flags and interesting locations... playing the same layout every time is starting to get old.

Also known as Khamisiyah. AFsoccer's original concept when making that map was Kashan 2.0.eversmen_br wrote:

The irony being that Kashan and Kamisaya are still both viable maps that play very differently and both have their own, well deserved place in PR.

Let the Kashan be as it is. Kashan isn't my favourite map but it has spirit
If you want change, change bunkers area - few tunnels and underground stuff and quite more objectson the land maybe.

Re: What Happened to Kashan ?
I despise Kashan. As infantry, it's either sit in a bunker for 45 minutes, or sit in G5 on a TOW. Anywhere else, you get ripped up by tanks, snipers, CAS etc. Even worse when most of the players capable of coordination jump in assets and the remaining infantry players are totally disorganised.
I prefer Khamisiya ten-thousandfold over Kashan - Lots of varied environments, more interesting terrain and less asset spam = fun infantry experience. Definitely feels like Kashan 2.0 as Ironclad said, but it's more than 200% as good.
I'd probably enjoy Kashan if 200 player servers were a thing. And maybe if all assets are available from the start and didn't respawn (Except transports). So you've got tons of infantry, but quite a lot of assets rolling around too, however once they're lost they're lost, encouraging careful play. It'd probably lead to a more dynamic battle, since as far as I've experienced in 1.0, the round starts and ends at the bunker complex to the point that it might as well be just D4 - G9. Perma-loss of assets would sometimes result in one team actually getting pushed back, putting more of the map to use.

Re: What Happened to Kashan ?
had some awesome infantry bunker cleaning while our tanks supported.
we got steamrolled by their tanks and CAS once they respawned again, but managed to hold bunkers for a little more time and also had a hat kit to take out 2 of their tanks and one havok.
finally we got pushed back to north village and lost due to lacking static defense setup around bunkers, but it was an intense fight and totally fun as infantry.
just a question of how good the team can work together, than it is not that 45min sit in bunkers story, but a nice bunker fight.

Re: What Happened to Kashan ?
It's fun to play it once in a while.
But if they really want to keep it, they have to do a major update.
I love the Hab's layout!
Very good!
But, honestly to update it...
They would definently have to redo the bunker area. Maybe have a city where bunkers were, then add a bunker complex in the F3 sectors.
But really, the best thing about Kashan...
It's a GREAT Training Map.

EJOD\Burning Sands much? You could add a City where the villages were, but you basically end up with Burning Sands, all the maps have their place. Kashan is more of a symbolic map, not that up to PR standards, but it should stay with it until its dying breath.matty1053 wrote:It's fun to play it once in a while.

Kashan = spirit of PR
simply. As I wrote before - if you want change, improve bunkers area to more "inf friendly" area, few more buildings on land and undeground complex

Re: What Happened to Kashan ?
Trust me you guys i have been playing pr since 2007, and on the forums from 2008, Kashan is the ultimate PR map, that no matter what happens will always be great. I simply love it, there is enough for everyone, jets, helicopters, tanks, bunkers... I did prefer Us instead of Canada, i don't know why it was changed.
Forgive my bad English...

Nytemyre perfectly described Kashan Desert with this drawing.
https://www.realitymod.com/forum/f10-pr ... ost1944641
It is basically a vehicle warfare map except for the inf version which is surprisingly good but never selected because everyone want there own assets.
To me this map never got above it's training sandbox state though. It is a shooting gallery with no room to move for infantry and with the additions of the UAV the assets also can't hide. I do believe it is CAS pilots dream map though.

Re: What Happened to Kashan ?
Totally agree. I bored/rage quit again yesterday due to the utter rapefest that the bunkers ended up being for the inf... again... for the 7 millionth and first time since kashan was released. A lot of people want to see it remain, but with so many quality maps in PR, I have no idea why it would be selected in a maplist.Gracler wrote:Nytemyre perfectly described Kashan Desert with this drawing.

Re: What Happened to Kashan ?
I think Kashan might still have some life left. On the CF layer, it tends to be quite fun. You tend to have some action at the bunkers, but with a less potent CAS (Fitter only having S5 and Explosive Autocannon, Canada has no anti-tank capability except for some Mavericks which leaves it vulnerable to ground fire..). In addition, there tends to be more action at the villages where you can have gr8 INF fun. Still, Kashan is still the same assetwhore map, but who does not love screwing around in a BMP as MECHINF, eh?

I definently enjoyed The Hab's layout.... very fun.
But, how about putting someone else in the map?
GB?

Re: What Happened to Kashan ?
maybe kashan needs a remake/upgrade/update/whatever???
kind of like there is now a muttrah 2.0
At this point Kashan has become an integral part of PR and untill someone makes an significantly updated/improved version of that map I think it should stay put.
