omg yes please add this, its a real pain to run logistics on the ground in Korengal... it would be VERY nice to have an airdrop alternative, even if its a small one

Blackhawk, yes its big but add a few rocket pods\attack+crate version and you have fixed Korengal!

Korengal is good as it is. It's one of the few map that gives an advantage to the insurgents and you folks are all whining too much about it being impossible. See it as a bloody challenge for once.

I dont really think a BH would give the US so much advantage that it would be unbalanced... It would only improve gameplay.. Korengal is already my favourite map but just imagine how a bh would improve everything like a constant BH squad with doorgunners laying down suppressive fire on possible talib locations and ranger squads securing LZs or recon squads hiding in the mountains waiting for a supply drop to build a quick attack fob this would be AWESOME!B.Pronk(NL) wrote:Korengal is good as it is. thats what i think as well... usually blufor wins most insurgent matches. korengal is the only real challenge for the us, or blufor in general. i know its quite a hard map and it can be quite frustrating but thats the challenge ladies. its the only map where youre always in fear of taliban snipers and ambushes, and i think thats good. it is (sadly) kinda like the real korengal valley.B.Pronk(NL) wrote:Korengal is good as it is. No The simple fact is the map is one sided. Now in 0.98 yes it was fine but now that each side have 50 players that's 50 AK's PKM's RPG's shooting at your Logi it a death trap just like real life so i recommend on just this map that little bird able to carry just one crate small Crate on Korengal Valley so US ARMY can get a foothold the the area at least. Karbala is one sided as well, Al-Basrah is one sided as well. Iron Ridge is one sided as well and so on. Most maps are lopsided towards BLUFOR so stop the whining and bloody accept it. The Korengal was called Death Valley for a reason. Look at Restrepo, watch the articles about ISAF abandoning the Korengal valley, it all proves that the map should be one sided and that BLUFOR should have a challenge.

Previous reply: I second that, that's reality. That's the way it is and should be.
The LB pilot got to be cautious and a bit experienced. Just get an high altitude, dive in, make sure LZ is clear aforehand and drop troops, then wave back to main via a safe route, fly low (since u dived) and quickly rtb. This doesn't mean that LB can win or lose the game, but can be very effective.
BTW not sure if talibs can request AA?
Blufor got the possibility to make use of the rally points, the commander rally point (which is most of the times not being used, which can easily be done, some1 goes commander pops rally and resigns and gets back in sqd), UAV, LB transporting. Enough support already imo. Advantage of commander rally point is that everyone can spawn on it and I thought it lasts longer.
This map just provides some more coordination and communication on the BLUFOR side. Like before the assets are rolling out (except LB ofc) the roads have to be clear and checked (by infantry/UAV..). So you're sure its clear to use the roads. Instead of rolling down the road with a big fat logi without thinking, get fired upon by talibs etc. Taliban can have a cache close the US main, overlooking main road.
It also depends on what servers you are playing on, because an American or an European server can be very different. I assume TS plays on US servers. In my experience, and I am not the only one. There is more coordination/communication and les asset solo on EU servers. Not want to downgrade the US servers, but then I can imagine that it sometimes can be a hard map to play for the TS point of view.

The commander rally point requires the commander to be in range of a SL + 6 troops, have an officer kit, and stay within 100m of the rally point for it to remain active. Hmm, that doesn't really seem that strict. Edit: You are correct, for the shortlived 0.95->0.96, the commander rally was indeed 12 people with 2 SLs

No expiration while the commander is close to it (100m radius) and alive. It's not available in Skirmish or for Insurgents.

Didn't they also recently remove the part of the commander being close to it and replaced it with the "support" radius from the FOB's so that if the commander place a rally away from a fob is disappears after 1 min, but if a fob is near it stays until the fob is gone or the rally is overrun, just like the SL rally's.

And you just got a back up rally point, it's better than nothing anyway.
But how long does it last if the commander is not within the 100 m range? And what about if the rally is placed within two large grids away from the main, does that make any difference?

Chinooks on Korengal would be too much, you'd get off the ground, and as soon as you're up to speed you would have to slow down. The map needs to be 2km or more for logistical choppers to make physical sense.
