[SP?] Possible to give Apache Pilot the cannon?

Post by Suasponte »

Let me state first off.. I understand the mission behind PR is to make the game more realistic but once in awhile I'd like a little versatility. Is it possible..and if so how would I proceed..to give the Apache/Cobra pilot ability to use the cannon in addition to the Hydras?Or swap the Hydras for the gun? :? :Yes,for solo interest.

Give Apache Pilot the cannon?

Because that makes any sense. Good luck aiming. You can't aim the gun while flying.

The question wasn't "why" . Secondly I just asked if it was possible and FYI yes you can aim and fly.Realistically the pilot or gunner can slave the cannon ;)

'Limeni[BiH wrote:;1993321']Because we would have a lot of people soloing. Then someone would ask the same question about armored ground units... and then we would have one man tank pro mech unit warriors....
"Yes,for solo interest"◄ ▬ I have a dual install of BF2.One drive for MP/CooP,second for SP.Anyway, thx for the reply.I'm going to shelve the idea.

Yes its possible to do, in the same way that in vBF2 a tank driver can turn and shoot the turret/cannon while still driving.
Coding it for SP use isn't simple thou.

Bingo! Thanks Rhino!I appreciate the directness  . That's what I was wondering, complexity of it,that is if it was really worth the time or effort. Thanks again

The most retarded idea that I've seen in passing month... This is PR. The main point of this game is to do some things with other people, not solo

Isn't the hydras operated by the gunner IRL?

This thread gave me the conclusion that most people over here just read the thread title and come over to reply. Most of those posts wouldn't even be made if they did read what the guy said.

I don't really see the problem, he wants it for coop and if you didn't know there is already one chopper with cannon for pilot, the non-transport Hind (if it didn't change in the latest update).

But.. wouldn't it make a "problem"?
Just if somebody wants to gun it..
You'll need two versions of the same chopper on the map.

That's a fixed forward facing cannon, which is something far simpler than one that can swivel.

The great heli flight sim"Janes Apache LongBow " series had it right..the cannon fired wherever you were looking.Too bad it can't be duplicated
