Sound problem with PR

can anyone help me with a problem i have with project reality for bf2?

i have a sound problem with pr for b2, the sound is supposed to be stereo and depending on the position i have in game e.g. someone is shooting to my right so i should hear the shots being fired from the right but in my case the shots fired i hear to the opposite side so if someone's shooting to my right i hear it like it's coming from the left, and that's with every sound ingame, the sound on other games is fine, i only have this problem with pr, mumble voices are also affected by this, anyone know what might be the problem?

sorry i've not formatted it correctly and didn't take care of my grammar, i'm in a bit of a hurry.

EDIT: seems i had headphones on the wrong way, i'm a dumbass.
