Re: Hades Peak - Beta Test
Very good map. Very balanced. On both layouts. Miltia layout is very good. First I thought the Apache and Jet are overkill. But you dont see shit with them. You completely depend on lazes. I was flying and was mainly getting lazes by CO which are very inaccurate since they are put on the map as markers. So I dont really know how it would work out with more squads providing lazes. But even they wont see much. If they want to laze anything they will have to get very close. That might even be the reason for the lack of good lazes. All in all a nice map.
Bugs: Russian main is called british airbase.
UAV seems to clip through mountains.
You can insta-reload jets on british runway by flying above it. Within half a second you are full. You dont even need to slow down. Dont know if its the same on the russian side.
oh, and the dog..

Re: Hades Peak - Beta Test
Balance is quit ok but I would change 2 things:
STD layer: 3 vs 3 Jets is too much and the Eurofighter is much better than the russian one. Change it to 2 vs 2 Jets
ALT: Brits have much better Assets than the Militia. Try it without Jet for UK side, and 50 Tickets more for Militia.
It would be nice to have another street on the southern part of the map.
Cheers,
Niko

Re: Hades Peak - Beta Test
We lost with <50 tickets difference on the alt layer as militia, air assets weren't too OP imo

I was the WSO on the tornado on Militia layer and it was virtually useluss without lazes. The visibility were only good at 2-300m above groundfecht_niko wrote:Balance is quit ok but I would change 2 things:

A medium sized city and 2 or 3 villages would really help increase the experience, the whole maps feels empty.

Re: Hades Peak - Beta Test
Bugs:
-I encountered a soundbug. The dog barking sound completly replaced all other ingame sounds (ambient, shooting etc.). This happened randomly for short periods of time. Mostly close to the trench objectives in the middle of the map.
-British transport trucks tend to slide in british main. Maybe related to the trucks rather than the map.
-The Challenger spawns slightly sloped on std. The tracks dont touch the ground at the back end.
Feedback:
I really love the terrain. I was gunning the challenger on std and my driver had a hard time to maneuver. The ridge lines, bushes and thick forest provide much cover and allow easy flanking for infantry and assets too. The view distance combined with the terrain forces even the assets in a more or less close combat. At least close enough for AT.
The alt layer is very balanced too. I thought it will be slaughter to let militia fight vs brits with heavy assets but it was fine. The only problem on militia side are logistics. Having the forward spawn is nice but in fact the supply trucks need a lot of time to reach the flags you cant really prepare for an attack. Having two supply trucks spawn forward to quickly set up fobs and assets would give the militia a good foot on the ground. Even a Mi24 or some kind of crates that allow for a fast fob ond despawn after 5 to 10 minutes would help. The assets are mostly fine. Quadcannons and mobile aa allowed us to destroy quite a lot of air assets. But I would suggest to replace the BMP1. It is a waste of tickets in my opinion. Its very weak even against handheld AT but in fact you have no thermal and a low view distance with difficult terrain you are almost every time forced to go into close combat. The elevation of the barrel does not allow you to engange infantry on a range <100 meter making it even harder. In my opinion providing a second SPG techi and propably the new quad AA would be more usefull.

Re: Hades Peak - Beta Test
The open terrain between the central fort and the north fort, on the western slope, that area needs tweaking.
The north fort's western wall is completely straight, there needs to be some sort of cover between the SW corner of the north fort and the NW corner, because at the moment 2 guys can hold/defend the entire south and western approach.
The Panthers on the militia layer are too overpowering.
The collision meshes of the boulders at north fort's eastern approach had very bad collision meshes, causing strange problems when trying to navigate up the hill.
The militia layer was too dark, by an appreciable amount. It's not fun squinting at your monitor with iron sights for 90 minutes straight.
As for FPS, lag, etc, everything seemed pretty good.

I guess it is intended to build up a fort on a good defendable position, right?

Re: Hades Peak - Beta Test
Check the flags, for example on Std in the RU mainbase the flag is floating in the air...
And in GB main it is on the ground.

Re: Hades Peak - Beta Test
But we should have at least one more event for this map since not everybody gave feedback here yet... (to have more time for testing)
