DO you play PR with desktop CPU with an integrated GPU? Please share your experience

Post by LITOralis.nMd »

Hello guys and gals,

I'm trying to find out if anyone in the community plays PR with a DESKTOP CPU and integrated GPU.

That means if you play with any of the following CPUs/APUs below, please post your system specs and let us know about your gaming experience in PR:

Intel:
Sandy Bridge:
  • HD Graphics 2000 ? six execution units and additional features, up to 60 GFLOPS at 1250 MHz
  • HD Graphics 3000 ? 12 execution units and additional features, up to 129.6 GFLOPS at 1350 MHz

Ivy Bridge:
  • HD Graphics ? six execution units[c]
  • HD Graphics 2500 ? six execution units and additional features, up to 110.4 GFLOPS at 1150 MHz
  • HD Graphics 4000 ? 16 execution units and additional features, up to 332.8 GFLOPS at 1300 MHz

Haswel
Intel Haswell i7-4771 CPU, with integrated HD Graphics 4600 (GT2)
On 12 September 2012, Haswell CPUs were announced, with four models of integrated GPUs:

  • HD Graphics ? GT1, 10 execution units, up to 184 GFLOPS at 1150 MHz
  • HD Graphics 4200, 4400, 4600, P4600, P4700 ? GT2, 20 execution units, up to 432 GFLOPS at 1350 MHz
  • HD Graphics 5000 ? GT3, 40 execution units, twice the performance of HD4xxx for compute-limited workloads, 15 W TDP SKUs, up to 704 GFLOPS
  • Iris Graphics 5100 ? the same as HD Graphics 5000, 28 W TDP SKUs, but higher maximum frequency of 1.3 instead of 1.1 GHz,[6] up to 832 GFLOPS
  • Iris Pro Graphics 5200 ? GT3e, the same as GT3 but with addition of a large 128 MB embedded DRAM (eDRAM) cache to improve performance of bandwidth-limited workloads[6]

AMD:
Trinity
  • A8
  • A10

Richland
  • A8
  • A10

Kaveri
  • A6
  • A8
  • A10

32-bit only gives you access to ~2GB of your RAM.

The awesome results are probably to some UBER bandwidth from CPU to the internal GPU die-part ! :D (Only few nanometres or micro-/millimetres give high CPU performance!)

I've played PR for a month with Intel 4600 (i7 4770) on medium settings, 2x AA, 1440x900
It went to about 65/70?C at max load on PR

I gave a downgrade on my computer, and I am currently with an i3 4130 with 8gb 1333mhz RAM, 1GB configured for the onboard HD4400 video, and I could run the game at 720p, medium, AA4x to 45fps on average, but with smoke or explosions the fps drops to about 20 fps sometimes ...

i3 3110m w/ HD4000 and 4GB. Low settings except dynamic shadows (high,) the view distance 100% and 1280x768. I'm fine at 30-40 fps but explosions make it horrible. Windows 8 64-bit.

i3s are ment for office purposes like running excel and word... Not for playing games, especially not PR which suffers from its engine limitation and needs a strong single cpu rate.

I have an Intel HD 3000 on my laptop and the performance of current release is much better compared to the 1.0 or 1.1.

That one has not an integrated GPU (which is asked for in this thread), so you are playing with an external graphics card...

So actually an i5 Haswell-DT dual-core (the i5-4570T ) wo do the job best, clocked @ up to 3.6 GHz and also has turboboost? 35 W is not much power...

AMD A10-5750M with integrated AMD HD 8650G. I play on all high settings at 1600x900 while getting upwards of 40 fps in rural areas and around 20-25 fps in dense city/urban areas on average. 8GB of shared memory.

Edit: Alright, my memory must have been foggy or something. I just got done playing against some bots on Kahmisiyah and my fps tanked. It seemed fine on Ramiel yesterday.
