Connection to Server Lost (Within one minute)

Post by Cadian Guardsman »

Since Patch 1.0 my Project Reality has had connection issues to the various servers that I've tried to play on. I've tried all the suggestions seen and reinstalled Punkbuster ensured my firewall and ports allow it through and have tried nearly every in game/launcher menu option to attempt to get even half an hour in PR all fail and i get kicked after only about 1 minute in game. The weird thing is if I don't play for a month it lets me play for about 1 hour before I get this bug. I'm not really sure how to fix this and that's why I'm here.
I'll post my system info and my router now. I'm in Australia but so is all the other 7 people that I squad up with regularly and they seem to have no problems.

Disable "packet inspection" on your router. And "spoofing" ?

Also what firewall are you using?

Thanks so far so good I got an hour game done before I had work today as a test. It seemed fine. I'll try to get a long session in just in case I flunked out but it seems to be fixed thank you for the help.

Hmm the problem has come back, again it lets me play for about 5 minutes before booting me. I don't know hat is going wrong. This is really frustrating cause now rather than kicking me straight away it waits till I get to know and get organised with a squad. I tried Punk Buster again as well as turning all my firewalls of to no use.

What is your provider? It could be your ISP doing packet inspection or so.

And which AV software do you use?

I'm with Telstra and I'm not sure whether they do packet inspection. I'm not sure what you mean by AV Software could you clarify please?

What is your antivirus software and your firewall software?

Some antivirus programs and newer routers now have HIPS (Host-based Intrusion Prevention System) features built-in, which might interfere with online games.

IF you tell us your exact modem and router manufacturer and model number...

Anti-virus software, for example "ESET" or "Avira" or "AVG". ;)

EDIT: sry, litoralis was 10 min. faster! xD

2nd EDIT: Litoralis, OP post says it: "Technicolor TG587n v3" is router, not sure about his "modem" though... (if he has it)

I had McAfee but it expired ages ago,I do not have a modem that I know of and my firewall is default Windows 7 as far as I can tell. Technicolor TG587n v3 is my Router model, the only other thing stamped on it is Thompson Telecom which I'm Guessing is the Company.

Uh it appears I don't have any Anti virus programs installed though I used to have AVG. On my Laptop which is also on the network uses an up to date version of McAfee as it's what I buy stuff on but I'm not sure whether it applies some sort of network wide settings.

I seem to get 1 hour long games since disabling the router options you mentioned. Then after the first DC it goes 40 minutes 20 minutes 10 minutes 1 minute so I don't entirely know what is causing this.

Could it be related to my mumble because sometimes it doesn't connect to the server perhaps I loose connection because of that?
