Going from 1080p to 1440p

Hello,

a few months ago I've built a new computer (specs below) and now I'd like to get a bigger monitor. I am currently on a 21,5-incher (that's what she said) and I'm interested in a 27" monitor.

Here are my specs:
Intel i5 4670K
ASUS Z87-A
ASUS GTX770 2GB
Corsair Vengeance 2x4GB
Kingston SSD Now v300 120GB

My current settings for War Thunder are:


This yields an average of 110fps, with very few drops below 80fps, even though I've seen it go below 50fps a few times.

What should I expect in terms of performance drop and over-all quality?
Should I be thinking about overclocking and how much gain should I expect from that?

The answer is.. depending on the game's ability to scale up when going to SLI with your GTX770's or my GTX670's

So you'll need to buy another GTX770 to keep a minimum framerate above 90Hz .


I strongly suggest heading over to Blur Busters | Everything Better Than 60Hz ? including 120Hz, 144Hz, 240Hz, LightBoost, ULMB, Turbo240, G-SYNC, and more. and read up thoroughly before choosing a monitor and a 2nd GPU.

It means per second. He said framerate above 90Hz, so he's correct.

But yes, they're the same thing basically.

Well, now that I see what is possible in a monitor I want one as well, but my wallet doesn't.

I'm probably going to hold the purchase for a few months to see what's up with the Oculus Rift. I'll either buy the Rift and a Korean 27" IPS, or this Asus.

They are both measuring some quantity per second. The screen measures refreshes per second, the GPU measures frames output per second

I have an Xstar 1440p, and it's beautiful. Clocks to about 100hz, and I run it with a 560ti with MOST games (BF4 only runs well on minimum) without any problems on high settings at 40-60 FPS. You'll do fine with a 770.
