CTD after opening console

Hey guys,

I'm having a problem when i open console. Everytime i try to see what map has won during the mapvote, what somebody said, or something else in console i get a CTD.
Default settings, console is on `this key for me. I tried switching it to other keys, but that won't work.

Any suggestions on why this happens? Or how i can fix it?

It has been happening since i started playing, so it has nothing to do with the 1.0 update or more recent updates.

That is a new one for me.

Can you start up vanilla BF2, join a online multiplayer server, and see if you CTD when bringing up the console window please?

What language is your Windows running?

I have no idea how to fix this to be honest.

When i open my console in BF2 Vanilla, it works.
My Windows runs in Dutch.

I don't know what to do.
Someone else might offer you a way to fix this, but I'm not sure I've ever seen this problem in 2 years on this forum.


It might be easiest to reinstall PR if you have the .ISO still.

Let me know which .ISO you have if you do have it, and I'll post direct links to cumulative update patches.

This is the .ISO i have.

So, uninstall PR.

reinstall PR using your 1.0.29 .ISO.
Then download this:
there is a 1.0.29.0 -> 1.1.0.0 patch available...

Right click the link, Save As, save it somewhere you'll remember.
Go to the download location and open the .prpatch file, it should automatically run,

if it doesn't run automatically and asks which program to run it with, associate it with the PRLAuncher.exe located at \Battlefield 2\mods\pr\bin\PRLauncher.exe

That will get you from 1.0.29.0 -> 1.1.0.0 and you can use auto update to get from 1.1.0.0 - > 1.1.6.0
