Mumble not working?
I am new to project reality and new to the forums so forgive me if this is in the wrong place. I am having a bit of an issue with Mumble. I used to play BF2 vanilla a few years back and recently decided to try out PR. My problem is that I am unsure if Mumble is set up correctly. I understand that older versions or PR required an external mumble client and you had to connect to the PR server, but version 1.0 included it. I am on the latest version (1.1.6) and mumble is included and I was under the impression that i did not have to set up mumble on this version, but I don't believe it is working. Using default keys, i will explain what is happening. I am able to talk and be heard using BF2's default talk key of "B" and I can hear other people talking in my squad. My squad cannot, for example, hear me using mumble's default key of number pad "0" or "H". Am I supposed to be talking to my squad with BF2's default talk key, or mumble's? If I am supposed to use Mumble's keys, what am I doing wrong? Thanks for your help in advance.

Re: Mumble not working?
Start PRLauncher, click Options, Select PRMumble tab.
Check the shortcut keys.
You can change the shortcut keys here if you want.
Many players have reassigned the Squad Radio shortcut to the "B" key for continuity from vanilla BF2.
Click the blue "Launch" button to start PRMumble.
In PRMumble, we want to do two things:
1. Go through the Audio Wizard
2. Change/add shortcut keys.
1. in Menu bar, select Configure->Audio Wizard
Go through the steps of the audio wizard to ensure you have the correct audio input mic, and audio output, headphones/speakers selected.
2. in Menu bar, select Settings
Bottom left, tick the "Advanced" tickbox.
in left column, Select "Shortcuts"
Change the Shortcuts as you desire.
For future reference:
When you are playing PR on a online multiplayer server that has PRMUmble enabled,
In your taskbar next to your time/date, you should see a PR dogtag icon, double click it to open PRMumble at any time.
Check the shortcut keys.

Re: Mumble not working?
Sorry, I may not have explained myself correctly. I am not concerned about which keys are the talk keys, but rather my Mumble shortcut keys do not work at all. Only the "B" key works. I do not get the speaker icon on the right when I try to use my Mumble keys, only the "B" key. I have double checked to see if I had the dog tags in the taskbar, and indeed I do. Currently I am only able to talk to my squad using the B key (Which is BF2 Vanilla, and PR's talking key), and I cannot talk local at all. I guess I am just a little confused, that's all.

Re: Mumble not working?
No worries,
just go through the steps below and let me know if you have any problems...
Check to see if your antivirus or firewall is blocking PRMumble.exe
Check to see if PRMumble works by starting it as I described above.
Join a multiplayer server and alt-tab out and open PRMumble from the dogtag icon in the notifications taskbar area.
Check the push to talk keys are set correctly.
Check that PRMumble has the correct audio inpuit and audio output devices selected.
Use the AUdio Wizard or go to advanced settings.
When you can tell me you've tried all that, and can tell me which step causes the problem, we can go forward to resolve it.

Re: Mumble not working?
Well, now I feel like an idiot... I checked everything and everything was fine.. but I am using a laptop, and keep my function lock on all the time because be F keys have my volume buttons etc. ... and my "0" key on my number pad has an insert function on it, so this is why it wasn't working. All works fine now, Sorry about that.

Re: Mumble not working?
Quite alright, when the PRMumble dev was developing the custom Mumble for us, I specifically mentioned that most newer 14 and 15 inch laptops don't have number pads. And that people would experience the problem you just faced.
But, there wasn't any other option, so here we are.
You can buy a cheapo USB numberpad keypad on Ebay/Amazon for like $8 if you happen to consider it worth the money/usefulness.
