Hello and thanks for reading!
Firstly, this is not a Project Reality issue but I would still very much like some help.
I used to have BF2 v1.0 installed on my computer, I always played on multiplayer servers, but later on I wanted to try out Project Reality, so I updated my game to V1.5, played on its servers for a few months and couldn't get Project reality to run so I quickly got tired of V1.5 and I decide to get back to v1.0 and at this point the problem starts.
I uninstalled BF2 V1.5 and used the same file I installed the game from at the first time but it wouldn't work for some reason, I join a server, the map loads up to 36%-38% then gets stuck their until it crashes and gives me a "debug assertion failed" saying that it couldn't render the SA80's animation, so I go to the objects_client file and find that all the weapons files are missing! what I do is I download another BF2 .iso file and reinstall, same problem so I'm starting to think that its my own computer's fault, what do you think I should do?
Note, I disabled my antivirus while installing and still the files don't show up when the installation finishes.
Thanks for the help!

That would also be my first guess, that your Antivirus is performing deep inspection of the .zip files and found a false positive.Note, I disabled my antivirus while installing and still the files don't show up when the installation finishes.
I got to agree with your guess that it's a hardware issue,
It's possible you have a bad sector on your hard drive at the exact location of the SA80 .zip file.
Try uninstalling BF2,
fully defragmenting the drive/partition you had BF2 installed on ,
then reboot,
then try to reinstall.
Also, If you have a second hard drive or second partition, try installing BF2 to that drive or partition.

Second drive is full (funny but true) only got 6 gbs left on it so I keep games off it, but defragmenting my drive might work so I'll do that! thanks!
One more thing, wouldn't installing the game on a different location in the same file put it on a different sector or do I have it all wrong? or maybe uninstalling another game to free up "good" sectors?

"One more thing, wouldn't installing the game on a different location in the same file put it on a different sector or do I have it all wrong?"
That usually won't help. Attempt a defrag and cleaning out a few old files if possible to free up some space.

Re: Help with BF2 installation.
Defraged my hard drive and the files are still missing, I'll try installing on the almost full drive and see if it works, and cut paste onto my games hard drive, thanks for the assistance
I'll post here if it works or I run into more problems.
EDIT:I installed the game on my other drive and the files were installed correctly! I've just cut and pasted the game to my gaming hard drive, thanks for the help!
