BF2revive Project compatibility

Post by Dark_Slayer »

Hello everyone.

Recently I found this Project about freeing BF2 vanilla of the gamespy servers.
Revive BF2 - Extend BF2 Past Gamespy

They not only use their own Master servers, they also patch the game that BF2 and special forces are now 1 game instead of 2 and allow different setups on maps, like USA vs Insurgents on Karkand, as well as several new maps and balance changes.

I would like to know whether their "patch" is compatibel with PR or if these 2 will break each other.

Thank you for your answers in advance :-)

Since PR uses it's own modified binary (not bf2.exe) it should be compatible

I believe the PR:BF2 dev team has already taken care of everything in the recent 1.2 update...

And now, we wait.....

It won't break each other. But you will have separate accounts as they use different servers for accounts. Only FH2 en PR will have the same account database.

Also be advised that what they are doing might not be legal at all. As Special Forces is still a separate product with it's own pricetag. Although I doubt EA gives a damn :D
