Change Account Passwords?

Post by Bluedrake42 »

Is there a way to change account passwords with the launcher after you've already made them? I can't understand why there wouldn't be a way... but I can't find the option for the life of me.

Option is not available indeed at the moment it seems. I can't answer if it will in the future, you'll have to ask AM for that.

That seems like a really basic functionality that should be available 0.o

Keep in mind that the responsible DEVs spend the last weeks working hard on creating a stable and working solution due to the imminent Gamespy shutdown.
Do you prefer a stable service right now without that function or no master server at all?

Bloody don't get defensive I'm just stating the obvious, its an important feature and should probably be implemented at some point. I think of all people, you know how much I appreciate the devs' hard work.

You were able to go to the gamespy website and change it there.

The priority was being ready for the gamespy shutdown, can you not use your current password for now? AM is the man who did the hard work on this area, so wait for his reponse :)

not to be in any way unappreciative but the person was just asking for what would, as said, seem to be a pretty basic feature just in case a pw is forgotten etc to save time and headache from having to create a new account or worse not be able to play because you have no pw?

the importance in making the transition from gamespy successfully is evident. just as it would be just as important in keeping players in the game by having an option to change/retrieve a pw.

I'm sure though, just as in the past, bugs and features will be addressed accordingly.

it is very early in this patch/transition so I will go ahead and just thank the developers in advance for their time and work in making PR a great experience in the past, and present.

There's no way to change your password, delete accounts from the server, change email address, anything like that. Priority was getting the core service up in time for the cutoff deadline, extra features can come later once the service is stable.
