Re: v1.2 Hades Peak - Balance

I played some regular AAS on both sides.

Other than small arms being op for BluFor(as usual).
Netherlands has two tanks while RUS has one + BMP-2m.

In a heavily wooded area, tanks are a lot more usable because you can't simply one-shot(you can't one-shot it with RPG-26 anyway; but you can with AT-4, as usual BluFor has advantage here...along with HAT and regular rifles).
Netherlands gets rapid firing AR-15 variant with low recoil despite high ROF... and accurate/powerful AT-4(one shot APC from side and do decent damage to tank from rear; as opposed to RPG-26 which is no better than a LAW) and Panzerfaust(yes they only get one shot; but this one actually has a functional scope).

RUS has actually decent APC but they have no thermals; so that's a lot less effective in heavily wooded map such as this.
If infantry gets to bunkers/trenches; there is no way to dig them out other than with even more infantry or mortars, apc(such as BTR-80A) that tries will be LAT/HATted to see Stalin before they get any meaningful amount of kill/suppression(since trenches are on top of hill...).

Solution: Two tanks for RUS as well. Or give RUS even more BMP-2M, or give a MT-LB or BRDM with ATGM so they can counter Netherland's two tanks.

The two times I've played, the RUS team has been absolutely steamrolled, but the teams did suck the round before too, so that's purely anecdotal evidence. It does feel like the armor for the RUS side is a bit outclassed. I'll reserve more in depth feedback once I've had a good round on both sides.

On our training server I noticed that you can reload/repair jets simply by flying over the airfield, BF2 style.
I don't think we modified anything related to reload points (don't know if possible) so I'll assume this fly-by rearm is also possible on the normal map.

Is there a reason to this? Especially considering it's the only map (afaik) that you can do it on, and I feel it dumbs down flying CAS Jets quite a bit.

not intentional, also not sure what's doing it

Flag layout is really strange, not very linear, not necessarily a bad thing but it does make the fighting very chaotic. Seems like it could use some more flags that will allow people to use more of the map. More roads would be nice but that might ruin the feel of the map the mapper was aiming for.

Pros:
Great combat action
Really proves how sexy the Dutch are.
Good INF combat.

Cons:
Can be frustrating for both teams.
Russia does have an advantage.... Their BMP's and T90 will wreck Netherlands easily.
Weird FPS in the mountain areas.

Netherlands did steamroll Ruskies a few times... but the Russians didn't rush to the flags.
But I'd rate this map 9/10

Really is a fun map. It seems this patch really focused on balancing infantry.

But this map is tough to get supplies to areas. Plus, if a tank gets tracked to the north, kind of a 'good luck' to him. Since logi will take approx 4-5 minutes getting from main to the tank. (depends how far tank is ofc)

That's not an advantage when Netherland has TWO tanks while map is wood heavy and has lots of infantry cover.

Tank and BMP-2M can't load ATGM when they need to rape infantry.
And if they don't; infantry(on Netherland side) can simply one-shot the BMP-2M with even LAT and HAT will one-shot T-90(when Rpg-7 with tandem warhead fails to hit/kill most of time).

It was the same during the beta test, GB tornado could rearm by just passing over the airfield.

Really loving this map so far.

Those bunkers on the hills remind me some good moments I used to spend on some Darkest Hour maps.

I've actually realised what was causing it, it wasn't the runway, it was my choice of rearming object by the hangers, this has been fixed for next version.

You'll have to land and move to the hanger to rearm now, so air to ground support will be alot less powerful

Please release a patch fixing the airfield glitch.

I did cas for once on the new patch. I really enjoyed it.
The F35 does kill almost everything.

But I can proudly say this to the Dev of this map...
I didn't use the glitch! :)
I actually forgot about it and landed.

and nearly tked a jet on the runway.

We don't release hotfixes for something that small. At current, there are no game-breaking problems in 1.2 so don't expect a patch soon.

dont worry.

I could care less tbh. It's nothing huge. Plus, the map isn't played a ton.

The F-35 is terrible to land because it cannot counter the drift once you get 600ish. 3/4ths of the time you can make it with smoking engine or very minor damage though. Moving it out of the Khami-Style re-arm points is a bit sad, it was quicker to rearm that way than taxing into the hangars themselves..

I've cut back the F-35A's pitching rate, and will invest some time later this week making it behave better on the tarmac. There may not be much I can do for taxi-ing on the ground; DICE never set up the F-35B to steer on the ground due to the omni-present YAW rotational VTOL engine handling that (which we obviously cut on the CTOL F-35A).

If the Dutch aircraft still consistently beat the Russians after the next update I'll look into exchanging either the ASF or Strike loadout F-35A's OUT in favor of F-16's with the same ordinance loadout. I don't want to lose the bird completely; its a great aircraft and gives the Dutch a nice unique flavor as a faction (at the moment), but

Gerneral
Great atmosphere! I like the terrain very much.

Feedback
Jets
Russian Air Force has a very little chance of having air superiority. Even the Russian fighters can't compete with any Dutch jet.
Perhaps make it 3 russian vs 2 dutch jets? Since Russia has 400 SU27+Su24 and Netherland only 100 F16+F35? Some kind of quantity vs quality balance?
Also, instant reload if you just fly over the helipads. Currently the Dutch F16 with the 6 dud bombs can drop its full load each 30 seconds, which is kind of odd.

Fennek
Great vehicle! But I think the footsteps are louder than its engine :D
