Thanks mate.

The PR:Z Open Beta Week is now Over.

We will be working on bug-fixing and some improvements before the next Open Beta. After that, we should release the first version of PR:Z and have the server running regularly twice per week. And re-organizing Survival Games Events every month or so.

After the first release, we will work on other maps and game-modes.

Keep an eye on this thread or in our moddb page.

Survival Games.

Zembies become boring very very fast.

Like Battlefield Vanilla. Or COD. Or MoH.

Bring the survival games back, its the only thing that is really intense.

I agree with that.


There are very few maps that are decent for the PR:Z

Dovre of course.
Definently Burning Sands would be a good map.


I remember a few survival games. I participated in like 2.

Can next open beta pls be a few evenings in the weekend from around 7 till 11 pm GMT + 1 ? Is best time for germans to play the beta... ;) 8)

Daniel you must be Matty's Idol as you've been posting useless comments for years but only recently did I realize that you can do that over PM too...

As I told you via PM, read the damn threads before asking stupid questions!

PR-Time is currently GMT. The Open Beta ran from 18h30 to 2h30 PR-Time which means that it was live and mostly full during your suggested times. Including a full weekend and an extra Saturday. Not to mention that if we only ran it for 4 hours even less people would have been able to try it.

So he's a suggestion for you: Read, Re-read, Think about it, Re-think it, then post it if it's actually something useful.

Hello,

It's not dead... yet.

We took a break and may get back to work in June.

To be honest, you're the first one to ask for it... so it seems it wasn't missed by most. The game-play of the Open Beta seemed a bit repetitive and needs more objectives to improve it. That requires quite a bit of work and proper planning.

If we still have the manpower to finish it, we will.

Not missed?!? I've been wanting this before there was even a PRZ in production. When I saw PRZ in production my jaw dropped and was extremely excited for it. I'm sure many other people feel the same way as well.

Feel free to provide some feedback on what should be improved and what type of objectives we could add to provide more game-play variety.

I'll have a word with the team members and see if we can get the minimod working again.

Maybe one group of human trying to kill another group of human or steal their hidden food stashes all the while fighting off hordes of zombies? (reminds of day Z... :-P )

Mmmmh... Hokunin post just gave me an idea : what about an insurgent-cache game mode style ?

That would be a sort of randomly located zombie nest from which they can infinitely spawn (until it's destroyed).
The objective of the survivors would be to destroy all the zombie nests they can find, and they win the game after 5 of them are destroyed. On the other side, zombies have to protect the nests until survivors tickets reache 0 (or until the time runs out).
Unlike the zombies, the survivors won't ever have the nest on their map, so they'll need to locate it all by themselves until the end (tip : spotting zombies should help them finding nests). And the zombies need to mislead the survivors and not let them know where are the nests.

Now, I suppose this game mode should still have the randomly located weapons feature, but where do the survivors spawn at the beginning of the game ? And where can they respawn when they die ? Could they make fobs or drop rally points ? Maybe SLs could drop rally points (by having 2 teammates on his sides), and they would work more or less like fobs, except the survivors could still spawn on it even if zombies are sticking around it, and the zombies can destroy it with their own hands.

But then of course, there wouldn't be any pvp among survivors in this game mode.

PS : I think there should be as much players in both teams.

Isnt that exactly PR-Z's gameplay right now? People form groups and try to kill other groups and take their guns or vehicles while fighting zombies :-D

Just dropping a small idea I got for PR:Z : allowing the zombies to smell blood.

In other words, if a survivor is hit and bleeds, he appears on the zombies team's map, until he's fully healed, or dead.
