[AAR] 12 badass soldiers, 1 medic to keep them alive...

Post by Midnight_o9 »

This entire action happened on PRTA, on Hades Peak, Dutch side.
My squad, lead by Thodin, was composed of GGEffern and myself as medics, fire2nor as breacher, Letron and Woolsock as riflemen, HunterMed as AR and moffe as marksman. (at least it was the composition at the start of the action, it might have changed during it) was defending Trenches, at the point of the Russian offensive, we quickly got supported by another squad but got pushed back, this happened during and after the counter offensive

It was a foggy day in this lost land called Hades Peak, the Russian troops were closing on us, we were ready, we already pushed back one of their assault.

Thodin was gathering us, I was standing there listening to his motivational words, we were gonna crush them, not one of them would pass our defences, we were almost there, back to the trenches, ready to defend our flag, when suddenly it happened... the nightmare...

"Okay guys", said GGEffern, "it was nice playing with you, I've got to go". As everyone in our squad told him goodbye, my heart stopped, my only thought was that we were going to fight, and our second medic just bailed on us, I was here, alone, 10 epipens, one medic bag and a few bandages, I gathered my guts and kept moving to the objective, knowing I was going to hell.

Piercing through the fog, smokes and dust, our squad stormed the trenches like thunder "To the underground!" yelled Thodin, our mighty Norwegian squadleader, "does anyone know where the entrance is though?" he then added... fortunately someone knew, like a lion he rushed in there his C7 in his hands, full auto, spraying bullets all over the place, but he got hit, then another one of us fell behind him and a third, it took three men to clear that underground pass, and so my work began. "MEDIIIIIIIIC" I heard and I ran as fast as I could, they were lying down at the entrance, on the slope, epipens out I stabbed the first one bringing him back on his feet, as I was healing him another soldier came to me "I'm bleeding heal me!!!!" I told him to wait but the others started screeming "mediiic get me up!" I tried my best but eventually had to tell them "guys, I'm the only medic and you're like... 6 down here, give me a minute!", a general laugh ensued... My cautious squadleader then ordered to use personal bandages to speed up the process as the enemy was coming back.

Soon we were back in the trenches when the radio started crackling again : "Enemy west!" "enemy north!" "enemy north west!" "I'm taking fire from the south!". No doubt, we were surrounded... And again, the cries for medic started, shooting some bullets at the enemy, reviving a fallen brother, healing another wounded, they were everywhere and I was running everywhere, dodging bullets, avoiding the merciless scythe of the reaper. fire2nor was fighting back to back with me, then I went up that tower to get Letron up and quickly... blue guys started calling me as well... blue guys, what the hell was going on, I checked my map to be welcomed by a terrifying view, another squad was fighting with us, and no medic, I was alone, one medic, for 12 men, I got back on my feet, stabbed that epipen in that guy's butt and started healing him, I didn't pay attention to my radio chat for a second and when I got my head up... surrounded, I was surrounded by those Dutch soldiers, waiting to be healed, one by one, 3 of them, all around me, the good thing was they were providing a good cover. But I soon had to go back to the action.

They were now close to us, pretty much at arms length, we could hear them breathe, one popped in front of me, jumping over the wooden wall, BLAM BLAM BLAM I shot three bullets at him and he fell down, I could hear the THUMP THUMP THUMP of fire2nor gun behind me, covering my back, when suddenly his cry broke the dampened sound of his gun, he fell right on my knees behind the crates covering us, I turned back, raised my rifle and emptied an entire magazine, killing another russian, I jumped in front, seeing another silhouette I started firing again when suddenly : "CEASE FIRE! FRIENDLY" I just shot one of my own, I ran to patch him up, "sorry, sorry mate" and went back to get fire2nor back on his feet, meanwhile the blue guys were covering us and dying, and I picked them up, one at a time, running back and forth to get them all.

It seemed to get quieter, and there was this guy out of the trench "get me up" he said, "I can laze the enemy APC" I jumped out of the trench, got my last 2 epipens in my hand and... BOOM! BOOM!! BOOOOOM!!!! "AREA ATTACK!!!" yelled the men around as everyone ran for cover, but I was here, in the open, so vulnerable, thinking this was the reason why it was so quiet all of a sudden, they were calling in artillery! *******, they'll pay for this!

Shrapnels got me and I had to patch myself up, getting that guy up was no longer an option, and I used my last epipens trying to get him, I was ready to jump back in the trench, when a Russian soldier jumped in the trench right in front of me! I emptied a magazine on him and quickly reloaded, waiting for more to come, everyone around me was dead, blown off by the artillery or killed by the Russians storming the place everywhere, I took cover behind sandbags and... Another one! three bullets and he fell down on my feet, I just had time to turn back that another one was there, I emptied my gun on full auto in his body, he fell down, but it was a lost cause, the last stand, I only heard a crack and I fell down, it was over, they were all around us, the trenches were lost.

We held them back long enough to grant us a great victory, we lost many men, but I also saved many (7), and healed even more. It was a very intense fight, and being medic was tough at this moment, my squad did a great job at covering me at all time and it was a great moment of teamplay in that defensive operation.

Please when you have a full squad always make sure you have two medics, taking care of 8 guys with one medic is one hell of a job.

Thank you guys, I regret I didn't take any screenshots or recorded, recording that round would have been epic, but I still felt I had to tell that story, at least for me to remember it. Glad you liked it.
