Re: PR 1.0 disconnects after like 15 minutes
Having this problem for a long time. I have tried plugging straight into the modem, turning the firewall off, setting a static IP address, playing with Team speak, foreign servers, and reinstall PR, but all didn't work. I asked my ISP (Docomo Pacific) if they used Traffic shaping, packet inspection, etc and they just ran a modem connection test all told me to fuck off. Ugh I really want to be able to play for more than 20 minutes at a time. Any other solutions?
Modem Cisco DPQ3212
Router Trendnet TEW625BRP
I have a second Network router

I'll try to move my computer to a friend's house to test PR on another ISP. Will update when I can.

The good thing is, I'm getting AT&T Uverse after my contract is up w/ Comcast/Xfinity. (Ends in Feb 2nd 2014!)

The island I live on doesn't have Comcast.

If you're experiencing disconnects, try this guy's approach!

As [R-CON]Psyrus just mentioned, people with Comcast and /or Arris modems should try this:
stewiesboys wrote:Okay i fixed the issue i believe but get this it wasn't punkbuster fully to blame. once that was fixed i still got dced withing 30 minutes. After looking a bit i downloaded tcp optimizer and run it as admin switched the mode to optimal then pressed custom to keep the settings in custom as what optimal displayed.
Turned off windows scaling and put followed this guide thankyou so much also heads up guys i have comcast yes comcast thats ******** and guess what else i have a arris modem/router combo this fixed my issue. Make sure you change the pb service for a and b to restart the service on the 3 tabs.
TeRR0R wrote:I had the "Your connection to the server has been lost" problem in almost every round!
Sometimes after few minutes sometimes only after 20-30 minutes. Pretty random.
I have a very fast and reliable cable router connection. Not playing over wireless.
I always thought it had something to do with punkbuster.
After trying all common PB fixes I even reinstalled BF2 and PR.
Then I found out that I even get the above message on vanilla BF2 servers where Punkbuster is NOT enabled!
This knowledge lead me to all sorts of Windows network tuning.
I tested every single change and reverted it, when it didn't help.
But then I tested THIS:
Since that change I played serval hours BF2 and PR without any connection lost!
Read this, if you want to know, what you are changing here.
Read article "Disable Windows Scaling heuristics" and "TCP Auto-Tuning".

I disabled Windows scaling heuristics and TCP Auto-Tuning, but to no avail. I still disconnect, but at least it is now closer to 40-50 minutes rather than instantaneously to 20. Could I tinker with these settings further to elminate DCs? What else should I try? Receive-side Scaling, Direct Cache Access (DCA)???

Re: PR 1.0 disconnects after like 15 minutes
POSSIBLE FIX
Just played 3 rounds without DCing
I did what Terror suggested and installed a TCP optimizer, but no dice. Updated PB...Nope (might of helped
)
The key thing I did was disabled Nagle's algorithm. People reported it helped with lacency for WOW (old game like BF2), so I disabled it and it really helped.
I don't now if that is the only factor, but I was able to play 3 rounds on HOG.
Will test further.

Going to download the software and try the above solutions. I don't have much time to play PR until I get home from work today but if all goes well, I will report my success and be able to play again! I love PR so being able to come back would be great.

Reporting that the above settings unfortunately did not help. Still seeing 2-3 disconnects per match. Just have to wait and get rid of Comcast at this point.

Are people getting the tick lag as well, or just the disconnects?

Windows update screwed up my PR. The TCP and Nabler tweak worked for a week and a half. Absolutely no dc, but after window updated I DC within 5 minutes and can't seem to fix it. RAGEGAOJGOAWIHGa

When i get issues like this, I log into a server and immediately open up the console.
Then I Type:
pb_sleep 500

Re: PR 1.0 disconnects after like 15 minutes
My game is behaving rather odd. My TCP optimizer fixed the DC problem for about a week like previously stated. After the windows update that brought the DCs back, I reset my winstocks and TCP/IP stack. The DC goes away for the remainder of the day, but returns the following. Doing the same thing renews the DC scarecrow effect. Any ideals to make the fix permanent?
