Mumble. again

Post by IchBinFrannottelli »

so, some of you guys have been very helpful, but my mumble still isnt working. Whenever i push to talk, it comes up on my squad members screen, but they cant actually hear me, and my mic definatley works! i have been checking my audio wizard, and when it comes to the voice activity detection, i am unable to move the slider. is this the problem? and if so, how can i sort it out? any help would be much appreciated!

What mic are you using? Is it a 3.5mm jack or a wireless headset or a USB mic/headset?
Make sure you tell us this, most important bit of knowledge here.

In the PRMumble Audio input options, try setting the unput device to default. CLICK APPLY.
Close PR, close PRMumble.

In Windows Audio options, make sure your mic is set to the default input device.

Reboot.

Try PR and PRMumble again.

It is a 3.5 mm jack, and I'll try that, thanks

I tried this, and my only options is to plug my earphones in to the mic slot on my laptop. But, my earphones have always worked yet suddenly have just stopped.

Sounds like a Windows setting. What version of windows are you using?

I use Windows 7 64bit. This is what I would try.

Go to Control Panel -> Hardware and Sound -> Click on the green "Sound" link -> Check to make sure you can see your headset/mic in the playback/recording options. If not, right click in the window and select "Show disabled devices".

Make sure your devices are enabled. Right click on them to make sure that each is set as your default device.

You should have sound now. If your mic is still not working, follow the same path and go to Recording. Righ click on your mic and select "Properties". Then select the "Levels" tab. Slide that sucker up. Try it again.

If this doesn't work, but a USB mic/headset.
