Desura error? :c

Everytime i start PR there comes a error with this : There was an error during the MCF install process and it has been stopped

Failed to download tools.{7.0)

what shud i do?

I have the same issue. I'm pretty sure it's somehow caused by the Desura update I just installed a few minutes ago but I don't know exactly how that messed things up. Any help would be great. Trying a full reinstall for now.

You should be able to go through Windows Explorer directly to the PRLauncher.exe and run it from there. You don't have to open PR through the Desura client.

If i start it over this : Steam->Steamapps->common->bf2_mods->pr->bin->PRLauncher


I get this error : Could not load assembly Reality.native.dll please ensure the file exist in the current parth,or renstall pr:bf2 if the problem continues

I don't know what that is... will have to ask AncientMan.

Upload your UpdateLogs folder (default is in %appdata%\Project Reality\Project Reality BF2\UpdateLogs).

Ive got no folder like taht, I have a Pr folder but only with Mumble in it...

Same problem. Ever since the Desura update, I would get 'failed to download tools' and would have to re install PR but weirdly once re installed I would be able to play, although if I close Desura or restart my computer the error comes back. I also only have mumble in PR folder.

The Desura client updated and broke the game. After many reinstalls it was useless.

Uninstall the game, then uninstall desura (if you only use it for PR) then reinstall the gane using the torrent.

It works fine.

Is there any way to downgrade Desura?

I've had the same problems as you guys but I have gotten PR to work. Desura is an unpredictable beast, try reinstalling, cleaning your computer, etc. Usually I would fix the problem but uninstalling some malware or something on my computer. Anyways, my mumble has not been working at all, if anyone gets PR to work after the desura update I'd appreciate some help on getting my mumble working again.

Solution

Project Reality: PRSPY

Just open up the game through this instead of opening it up through Desura. Hopefully Desura will be updated but until then this works just as well.
