Help, can't play!

I have an issue wheneer I join a server. After loading the server/map, and clicking "choose squad" (or whatever that 'join' button says), I get to a screen view of the map, with nothing showing up. Like this:



I've tried clicking every button on my keyboard, Enter, Space, etc. Nothing happens. I can't even type on chat. I can see the battle going on, and I can hear the sounds (of things that are nearby of the place my viewpoint is). But I can't do anything.

Does anybody know how I can fix this? I really want to play this game, but this is ruining it for me.

Did you try reinstalling?
Did you try setting the keyboard configuration to default?

Windows 8? Alt-tab and then open the game again, it should fix it

For me I tried this, and it did not work. I am on Win8, sadly. Any other ideas?

Yes, I have Windows 8.1. And yes, I tried reinstalling, and even Alt-Tabing. Nothing helped.

Please, I need help here.

Try put everything on " LOW " , run windowed , if not work ..... The problem is some corrupt file or missing file on you PRBF2 game files , should fix ... wait for someone expert enough to help you , like a PR - Admin or some guy that know fix this problems

Hi generalako,

Can you start PR and create a local game and join it, and see if the same error occurs.

Also, Start vanilla BF2 and create a local game to see if it happens there too.

As someone suggested, running in windowed mode should fix this instantly.
