My Project Reality Dream Fantasy

Post by SIDEKILL3R »

So i recently gave Planetside 2 a try again and i still don't like it i can't never really get into it. One day i started thinking how would it be if Project Reality was kinda like Planetside 2 A MMO. I just imagined a map the size of one planet on Planetside 2 or smaller but a real world location like all PR maps are base off of, and like close to 1000 player servers. The SHOCK N AWE of just thinking of how it would be. Using the current engine that BF2 :P R uses now( i think its the C4 engine I'm guessing to lazy to look it up) but like heavily modified with updated graphics and scale of the engine and so forth(including open code). Taking a map like Fallujah or another location and really making a HUGE Plantside 2 type of size map for it. Running the same type of game modes we play now INS or maybe AAS.

So just think how that would be, having 1000 players on a big map so 500 each side USMC vs Insurgents or ISIS or whatever and the objective is the same find and destroy each cache and Insurgents defend but at the same time insurgents push and claim a section of the map the same way the Planetside 2 way work. lets say one USMC take a cache in a certain area they claim the section and move up from there.

Now with 1000 player servers its going to be a lot of squads so just think a platoon of like 50 LAVs over 100 inf squads, a logistics squad to run supplies a transport squad, A Mortar/Artillery Division, and platoon commander for each division and then a General Commander. Awwwwwww

Only one can dream.....

I could further explain some more but i think that's enough.

Yeah I love hardcore MMO's.
They are upping the servers to take 128 players - they'll feel very full.
I'm sure I've seen some Vanilla Battlefield servers that had 500 players! (problem is we need 500 PR players :D )

I think Arma has larger maps too.

PR is my (futuristic) dream game, just checked back and glad to discover this mod is continuing to be developed and supported, & they have some servers within my ping range. (I'd be happying playing BF or Arma, so long as its PR).

Just imagine when you're calling in tank support, you're getting a dozen plus tanks instead of just one.

Has there ever been a current time war MMO?

Or you're watching a 12 tank group out miles away from you!

I agree an upscale/MMO PR would be the way to go for the future of PR.

I mean we went from 64 players to 100+ and the gameplay became 10x better (it was already good)... so logically a Planetside type model for PR would be the bee's knees. 500-1000 players a server or some such thing is also a realistic number in terms of server cost, maintenance, programming costs etc...

I'll leave the details up to the PR team they usually seem to know best 8-)
