How to ''insta'' deploy c4

Hi,

I have heard that you can sort of ''cook'' your c4 instead of just dropping it after the animation.
Is this true and how do you do this? I have just took a look again in the manual but could not find it.

You can't find it in the manual because it's an old engine exploit which can't be fixed. Thus nobody - even tho it's fairly known - would tell you in public how it's done. (Also don't think about asking it via PM or anything)

I heard someone ask me this on insurgency plenty of times. But if you find the glitch out.... don't use it/exploit it/tell anyone it. Glitches are for *******. Exploits of Glitchest are for..... well you get the point.

Totally illegal, there isn't a single gameplay-video in the forums that shows people using that glitch...

This issue has come up a lot in the last few days so I'll report what I've already written:

"To address the issue of cooking the C4, I intentionally omitted how I did that, while it's widely known, I'm not going to advertise bug exploits. I know some people never cook their C4 and that is admirable. I tend to avoid it myself, as spook said, the extra deploy time is the real thrill. But as you can see when you have a fob with heavy traffic or someone AFK on the fob, then I feel vindicated in getting the C4 down fast. Nothing worse than sneaking all that way just to be killed by someone who's been afk for 10 minutes making a sandwich, who happens to come back at just the right time "

I was part of a discussion yesterday about addressing common, low-level exploits that can't be fixed. It's a compromise between making sure everyone knows what is or isn't allowed whilst not advertising every cheap trick out there.

I'm not a dev and neither a programmer but I know that you can't cook or prepare TNT (militia breacher) so maybe it's possible to fix this.

I'd like to add, that it is not illegal. There is no server that punishes you for using it. It is kind of a globally tolerated glitch, since almost everyone I know used it. Some dislike it but I never heard of anyone getting in trouble for doing it. I stopped using it regulary because it takes away the challenge and does not feel like a success after killing something. Doing it all the time is just lame. And rarely you actually even need that. In most cases enemies are so blind, you can easily walk up to an asset with enemies around it, place the C4 and walk away without being noticed anyway.

For some reason caches almost always go down with 1 small c4 when I thought it was supposed to take 2.

They were never supposed to take more than one small C4.

I think it should not be done, especially not against vehicles. That's just too vanilla.
