I enjoy CO-OP more than Deployment

Post by obpmgmua »

CO-OP is so amazing that you could partition it from PR proper and put it on steam to sell as a stand alone game. That's how good it is.

I'm having so much fun shredding through bots, because they act just like real players. I only wish that I could join the bot team sometimes.

If the r-devs ever make a commercial product take notes from co-op. This is how you make a game.

The future of First Person Shooter games doesn't lie in Mil-Sims(Arma/Dayz/Etc) or Cod Clones(BF3/BF4/etc) but in PR Co-Op.

You can join the bot team by setting up a server that way.

Are you saying regular players are stupid like bots? Because as much as I like Co-Op in every game ever, BF2s AI is barely existant.

Ya that's whats awesome in the game, is just that lack of challenge were we get that 100:0 K/D all in one kill streak.... AWESOME

Agree 100%, they kinda are even better then the real players actually. The fact they use the come-rose instead the stupid mumble, the cool "walk sideways" and the fact they rush in a straight line toward our bullets makes the AI one of the best.

Again agree 100%, man you're on fire, we just need a voice saying the current number of our kill streak and its perfect. Oh and I forgot the fact they can see through smoke is just a PERFECT FEATURE, please don't even dare touch it.

Dont question the wikipedia! Just because it reports different things on different languages does not make it unreliable source!

Are you people autistic? I was being truthful. I like co-op because it's better than vanilla PR half the time.

@spec
No I'm saying that bots are extremely well programmed and provide a challenge, more so than organic players in most instances.

Co-op is the only time I get to fly jets. Dam the asset 'hoes!

Nothing but PvE? God I hope not.

Bots will continuously respawn on each other and they can see through foliage. And even with those massive advantages, they still can't hold a candle to a well organized squad of infantry players.

Haha trust me rushing hat hill with leopard on kashan std is the same like parking your tank there on co-op.
The stupidity of players nowadays can be equal of 10% hardness of the bots.

COOP is fun from times to times. But I cannot play it for longer than 30 minutes. It just gets too boring after my 60th kill within 10 minutes. I guess you never had the chance to play Deployment properly then?

The main thing that annoys me about the bots is they don't:

Keep their squads together
Have sensible squad contents, CAS, Inf whatever....
Follow orders from CO or commo rose

The are good at reviving though....

Nice if they were able to be controlled more to create a CNC (old game not PR game mode) type game play.

However good to practise with things that are rare on deployment.

I played with obpmgmua before in deployment for those who think he never played on pvp servers.

He actually wasn't that bad IMO.

But the only good thing about AI:

At least they can use assets correctly.

But, the bots can't even land helicopters. They just fly in circles around the place they want to drop in until they crash into each other or into a building. They can barely use tanks, and they just, don't take cover at all. Old Counter Strike bots are more clever.

Co-oP is boring. Also, Deployment is not "mil-sim" in public servers, much the contrary.

2 different games, really, coop versus online. I play both. 95 bots+me for 48v48. Sometimes I play more coop than online, sometimes more online than coop. Good thing about coop games is I'm free to use whatever I want, whenever I want, and do whatever I want. Sometimes I'll have rounds last 6 hours on coop and not get too bored (ultimate goal being complete domination of the opposition team). Takes a bit of modifying of the maps though to get them how I like for coop.

Each to their own. Both modes are good in their own ways.

This. Co op is fun for a while if you can't play multiplayer or just want to take a break, but BF2's AI is horrible. I remember first playing, on a Vietnam map as USMC. I didn't realize the AI couldn't land heli's so i was stuck in the air until we eventually crashed into another friendly heli while swooping over the control point.

That's true. You can do what ever you want in co op and have fun, and in multiplayer play seriously and have fun to.
The AI also seems to take every vehicle they can get their hands on as well. All in all, it's still pretty fun to play with infantry only maps and some larger maps on co op.

I played a layer on Kashan on CO-OP that had only the bunkers, it was a lot of fun to rush the bunkers Rambo-style with my squad.

The bots are potatos, if you find them challenging in any form perhaps you should dump the servers and timezones you usually play in and move on.
