Assassin's Creed II startup problem.

So I decided to re-install AC2 on my new computer running windows 8 64bit and this is what I get:

AssassinsCreedIIGame.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point D3DX9CheckTextureRequirements could not be located in the dynamic link library C:\Program Files (x86)\Ubisoft\Assassin's Creed II\AssassinsCreedIIGame.exe

Things I've tried so far:
Googling
Reinstalling
Updating

None worked.

However, AC3 and AC4 are running perfectly fine.
