BF2: PR No Longer Opens

As the title suggests, today out of nowhere PR will not open from Desura. It has been running fine for months but now when I try to open it just reads
"There was an error during MCF install process and it has stopped. Failed to download tools. [7.0]"

I uninstalled and installed again only for it to happen again after playing one match.
Please help!

I'm having the same issue. I deleted and reinstalled and it works on first entry, but next time through I get that error. How do you open the game without Desura? Do I have to install it separately?

How do you open the game without Desura?

IN your BF2 directory, where you find BF2.exe , there is PRBF2.exe , that is the exe to open to run PR directly.
