I appreciate the concern for myself, but my concern it's really for myself, as I know how to do all that as well...it's for the greater public that has even less patience than I do. If PC gamers ever want to have more than a handful of players or to see a paycheck for their hard work, they need to get with it. There isn't a fraction of this inconvenience involved with other games. Inconvenience = distraction = bored = next thing.
2 steps forward, 1 step back.
I thought about it for 24 hours and have a better solution, allow 1 key change or so many every so many hours. 1000% better than just locking keys to machines and I don't even get credit for this shit.
Is a valid CD-Key needed anymore?

if they don't have the patience, then it's not the game for them to begin with..

on the contrary, if someone has to use up that much patience later, we should save them as much time as possible to begin with. I don't follow that logic. it's not always a question of patience but of time. without prspy notifications, and if one had to install PR, it could take your 4-5 hours to install and get into the game that you want to play. There's a difference between being patient and being resilient.
this reminds me of "voter fraud"... a made up problem by republicans here in the states. no known cases except by the people claiming voter fraud, republicans.

I don't know, maybe it's this generation gap, not to put it down, but if you can't have your meal in 45 secs from a microwave, it's taking too much time to get supper. I come from a different generation, a conventional one, where you spent a good amount of time preparing your meal and it was well worth the wait.Vicious302 wrote:on the contrary, if someone has to use up that much patience later, we should save them as much time as possible to begin with. fast paced society today, hurry up and die.
I don't agree with you and don't expect you to agree with me. I wont put you down for your logic and expect, given you have some respect, you wont put me down for mine.
you want it now, or you don't have it, where I don't mind taking time to get what I want, to each their own.
as for politics, I don't go there.
good luck with your future and I hope you and those like yourself manage to get what you want, with out having any patience..

Re: Is a valid CD-Key needed anymore?
I'm not saying I want it now and you shouldn't assume your from a different generation than me because when you assume, you make an *** of U and ME.
What I said wasn't worried about myself, I build computers, I fix them, I have plenty of time for things that require time, but this is not one of those things. This is just an inconvience for very little gain and I'm sure if someone wants to find a faster way of getting around this, such as using regedit or simply searching my keyhash and finding what PR file this "feature" is kept it in. For me it probably won't be that hard so for someone who knows who to use aim bots it will be even easier. This is simply flawed logic. I'm insulting the idea not the person who came up with it.
I'm in the process of uninstalling PR and reinstalling to see if that works. That way I'll know if this is a registry edit I need to do or if it's just something in the PR files... either way this is a real half *** security measure and a full pain in the *** inconvenience.
Don't bother with server crashes.
Don't bother with sounds bugs.
Don't bother with no tournament.
Bother with this. riiiiiight.

you seem pretty persistent, so I assume you'll figure it out.
I also assume behind the scenes they are working hard to get things straight and here as of late with the gamespy shut down it has thrown a hitch in to things but speaking for myself, the game has come a long ways from back in the day, for the good for the most part.
the latest patch seemed to work well for me, played some yesterday and had no "lost connection" issues. maybe it was luck or, they may of got it fixed.
I feel once they get a way from the bf2 engine and move on to PR 2, it'll be an even better gaming experience. of course, that will be down the road, so we'll just have to "wait" and see..
good luck with everything man, I'm going to move on from this conversation. maybe I'll see you out there on the battlefield..
edit: I feel there is a gap, considerable one at that. you being 27 and myself soon to be 53 but it's all good man, all good.
one downside to this forum though is you can't delete a post. so I may have some double posts around here, my bad.

Re: Is a valid CD-Key needed anymore?
just reinstalled PR...after uninstall... not working.. this is so gay... so fucking gay. made thread asking if anyone really had problems with hackers or smack tards and the majority said no before some truth seeking admin helped us all by closing it.
...well no donation for PRSPY For me, no more playing for me... I probably need it... and this mod probably needs to lose some players for awhile to wake up to reality... haha. cya yall when PR2 comes out or the dev that made this decision has an epiphany. I could do all this other shit but I always question how much time and money I put into this 10 year old game anyway, so I think this is just a sign I need to sell my extra computers, not help my friends play this game, and move on with life. on contrary now I want to figure how to get around it, if only to post it to youtube as a fuck you to you guys. this is such a pain in the **** and pointless. and don't even start about my attitude.. you gave me this addiction.

No speaking for the Devs since I'm retired but your post makes me sad.
Your lack of appreciating and understanding is simply sad.
People worked their *** off to provide a working gamespy solution in time cause again we got fooled by EA.
Bother with sound bug and crashes? You can not imagine how many hours we put behind these issues. Single Devs put thousands of hours in that mod to make it enjoyable for you.
We tried everything to fix crashes and soundbugs, it's not an issue of trying it's just that we can't.
We only mod the game, our possibilities are very limited, we can not fix what is broken in the BF2 engine.
