Hey friends! I am going to buy a new pc the upcoming month and i wonder if anyone out there got any tips for me. What components to use etc..

My first pc build did not go that well because my motherboard bottlenecked my gpu.
Can anyone help me with this? My budget is around 1200 USD.

If you go cheap on other parts; you can probably afford a i5-4690k and 780ti(if you want to go down to 780, get r9 290 instead).

what do you have already?
pc case, hdd, ssd, dvd and/or bluray drive, monitor, keyboard, mouse, headphones.mic.headset, ??

I'd say go for the i5-4690k or i5-4670k , a mobo with great components but not too many extra features, and a GTX 780ti.

If you need a cheaper solution you can always go for an AMD radeon 280 graphics card.

Why not crossfire the 7970 with 280x?

And maybe switch motherboard to an intel one for a good i5-4690k.

Keep in mind later this year the new Intel CPU's and nVidia GPU's (unless you like AMD) are coming out soon, that means new technology can be purchased then or the stuff you want to buy now will most likely drop as far as price.

So, your motherboard can not properly Crossfire the HD7970 /R9 280X.

An Intel mobo that can properly crossfire at PCie 3.0 8X
Thermal paste
A quality CPU cooler.
An SSD.
(optional) A Radeon R9 280X . You can always buy this later.

Thanks for all the information guys! So i have been checking around for parts etc.. And these are the ones i have been looking at.

Intel Core i5 4690K 3,5GHz Socket 1150 Box: 259.140 USD
A Radeon R9 280X: 358.707 USD

For motherboard Gigabyte GA-Z97X-GAMING G1 WIFI-BK,S1150 maybe?

These are good for now. What are your thoughts?
