Install Issues (File format unknown or damaged)

Post by Vision_16 »

I am getting fed up with trying to figure this out. I have WinRAR and I downloaded the .torrent file from the downloads page. Everytime I try and open the file it says "file format unknown or damaged."

How the hell do I install this thing? I tried searching for an answer but none of them worked.

if I'm reading this right, all you have d/led is the torrent file, you need the iso which is about 6 Gb in size.

follow these steps I posted a while back from the link below.

good luck!

Yes I DL'ed the torrent file. I clicked on your link...my question I guess is how to download the ISO file? Is BitTorrent an application to use torrent files or something?

I guess I just don't understand why I can't download an install executable like every other game or program uses.

As a free to play mod without corporate sponsors we can not afford the bandwidth costs . It's that simple.

Download qbittorrent from here:
qBittorrent | SourceForge.net

install it. run it.
File Menu ->File ->Add Torrent File
Click the prbf2_1.2.0.0_full.iso.torrent file.

Give the qbittorrent client enough time to download the 6.9Gb file.

Then when you have the 6.9Gb file, you can extract it with winrar , or mount the .iso file as a virtual DVD drive.
Much easier to mount the .iso file
Download Slysoft VirtualClone Drive from here: SlySoft Virtual CloneDrive
Install it.
This should associate .iso files with Slysoft Virtual Cone drive.
Navigate to the PR .iso file in Windows Explorer,
Mount the PR .iso to a drive, open the drive, click the Setup.exe

Here is a video tutorial on how to set up Virtual Clone Drive:

it is an application. the link I provided is a tutorial on how to use bittorrent.

as for the tech's option, it is a good option as well but going through all those steps using a virtual drive seems unnecessary when you can just download the iso using bittorrent then go through the steps I suggested in the other link would be the simplest option when installing the game.
3 clicks and you're in business. right click the iso, extract and double click auto run and let it rip.

also I suggest saving the iso either to a disc or flash drive so you avoid having to go through d/ling it again, I have my iso on a flash drive so if I need to reformat or want to put the game on another pc it's saved for that purpose.

good luck!
