Crashing to Desktop Ingame

Post by Urza3142 »

For the last week I've noticed an annoying bug where my game crashes to desktop without any warning. There is no uniformity with the crashes. Sometimes it crashes within 2 minutes of launch. Other times it can end a three hour pr run. There is no error message, just a random crash to desktop. Oddly enough, mumble is still on when I crash.

Urza, your system specs look fine, no problems are apparent.

If you're up for experimenting, you can try either or both of these tests:

1. play in windowed mode: PRlauncher-?Options->Video tab->UNTICK the Fullscreen tab.->Click apply.
This will cause windows to create a pop up error message when PR crashes. screencap or copy down that message and post in this thread.

2.
Audio Information

Primary Playback: Speakers (Logitech Wireless Hea
Primary Recording: Microphone (Logitech Wireless H
Which Logitech wireless is that exactly?
Completely uninstalling the Logitech Audio software could be a solution.
Alternatively, disable the logitech audio software, disconnect the wireless headset, and plug in a wired 3.5mm jack speaker/headset and mic, and test.

3. Try Both 1 and 2 at the same time.

Just guesses based on history of problems we've had with Logitech wireless headsets.

not real sure where to post this error messages that popped up. but i have been getting this one occasionally.

BF2 memory error

memory.dll: setInternalPoolByIndex() fails, should not come here

i usually notice more that 1 mumble icon is in my task bar (near the clock area of taskbar...whatever that area is called.. where the hidden icons that are running stay) when this crash happens and that error notice appears. also i am playing full screen when this happens...not windowed

Well, I was playing in Window mode and it crashed again. Now message popped up. Just the game closed, then mumble shut down and said I was suppressed. My Logitech headset has no computer audio software to speak of. I do use a Logitech keyboard and mouse though.

And I was just about to hat a tank in the rear...

Well, if the Logitech headset really was the issue, it's already been replaced. Hopefully I will never have to deal with those crashes again.
