PR and RAM

Post by MadDog »

Just got a new pc with windows 8, haven't played any really CPU intensive games yet but when I try to run PR it runs smoothly in game however when I tab I notice my usage in my D: drive is %100. I am assuming that is the reason when I tab that my pc is incredibly lagging doing anything other than pr. This will continue for a while and fix itself when I reboot.

Operating System: Windows 8.1 64-bit (6.3, Build 9600) (9600.winblue_gdr.140723-201 8)
System Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer INC.
System Model: CM6330_CM6630_CM6730_CM6830-8
BIOS: 0504
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i5-3350P CPU @ 3.10GHz (4 CPUs), ~3.1GHz
Memory: 6144MB RAM
Available OS Memory: 6098MB RAM
Page File: 4035MB used, 4062MB available
Windows Dir: C:\WINDOWS
DirectX Version: DirectX 11
DX Setup Parameters: Not found
User DPI Setting: Using System DPI
System DPI Setting: 96 DPI (100 percent)
DWM DPI Scaling: Disabled
DxDiag Version: 6.03.9600.16384 64bit Unicode

Final note: All of my space used on the PC is on my C: drive. D: is practically empty.

Did you put your pagefile on your Disk 0 partition D: ?

Honestly not sure what to tell you,

I started using this borderless windowed program to play PR,
Steam Community :: Gameplay Crush

It might solve your issue,
or it might kill your framerate depending on your GPU.
