Project reality bf2 launcher stopped working

I just bought bf2 on steam just for the purpose of playing project reality. I downloaded pr's ISO file through the website. I installed it correctly and now whatever I do it wont start.

After clicking on it I get immediately the crash report. I read every thread that related to this matter but none of them worked in my situation.

I also downloaded the battlelog for bf2 but that didn't work either. It did start project reality but I get a message that i have to replace bf2.exe with the pr.exe. I don't understand what that means and I couldn't find the pr.exe in the given file, i only have the launcher.

Can anyone help me with this otherwise I paid 10 euros for nothing

Some simple questions,
1. Does regular battlefield 2 single player work correctly?
2. You must start PR through the PRLauncher program.

Depending on where you install your Steam games, the default location for BF2 is here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2
PRLauncher is located here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\bin\PRLauncher.exe

IF the PRLauncher works, just click Play and see if it works.
If it crashes, you can restart PRLauncher and click the Options button.
UNTICK the fullscreen tickbox. Click apply.
In the main PRLauncher window, click play again.
This time the error message pop up window should appear.
Get a SCreenshot or write down the error message and post it here.

The singleplayer works fine I just tested it. But I can't access the option button for the prlauncher in order to untick the fullscreen option , this is because when i click it i don't get a menu, I get this crash report inmediately after I see the Project Reality logo.

I tried things like run it without administrator and removing compabilities but that don't work.

And I also reset my laptop. After the reset I bought battlefield 2. Maybe this is also a thing in this

OK, let's try two things,
first, how did you download the PR .iso file?
If you used the torrent, open your bittorrent client and verify the integrity of your PR .iso download. Let's make sure the download is not corrupt.

Second, the PRlauncher requires .NET Framework 4.0 or newer. If you just reset your laptop, it might not be installed. Here is a link to the newest .NET framework 4.5.1 , if you need it, download and install: Download Microsoft .NET Framework 4.5.1 (Offline Installer) for Windows Vista SP2, Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8, Windows Server 2008 SP2 Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 and Windows Server 2012 from Official Microsoft Download Center

Third, make sure your antivirus is allowing PRLauncher.exe and PRBf2.exe. Make an exception for the programs. (This is rarely a problem)

Fourth, can you post your system specs, either a link to the HP website for your exact model number, or just write out what you can.

Well I just scanned the iso file with Utorrent but nothing is missing. I had downloaded the net framework before but I did it again now just in case. Anti virus is not blocking anything.

My specs:

Model: HP pavilion dv7-6b22ed
Processor: Intel(R) Core(TM) i7-2670QM CPU @ 2.20GHz 2.20GHz
Chipset: Intel Mobile HM65
Graphic card: Radeon HD6490M
RAM: 8GB
Operating system: Windows 7 Home Premium
System type: 64bit

It's very unusual to have PRLauncher crash like that, it's a very small program by itself that isn't using any large amount of resources.

Right click the PRLauncher icon, properties, Compatibility->All Users->Set to "run as admin" for all users. click apply. Test again.

Could someone else offer a suggestion, I'm not sure where to start here.

Alot of people forget to start bf2 vanilla before installing Pr! As far as i can remember this will cause a similar issue.

Well nothing was working and since I already had rebooted my laptop I decided to do it again.

I thought maybe there went something wrong with installing drivers and so on. I guess that was the problem because PRlauncher is working now. Sorry that I couldn't notice it sooner. Thanks for all the help anyway. The problem for me is now fixed
