Have you noticed......
Good Evening,
Have you ever noticed on a map how hard it is for people and squads to disengage enemy that is on the other side of the map away from the objective in hand?
Have you ever noticed how hard it is for people to not shoot the enemy when the enemy is oblivious to their presence and moving away from the objective your capping?
Dealt with the above two way too much today.

This annoys me to no end when you're sneaking through bushes to an objective and an enemy helo flies overheard and your squad starts shooting at it as if someone's going to score a lucky headshot and kill the pilot. And then they get surprised when enemy CAS arrives and kills everyone.RAWSwampFox wrote:Have you ever noticed how hard it is for people to not shoot the enemy when the enemy is oblivious to their presence and moving away from the objective your capping?

Its always sad when this happens. I try to avoid it thorugh defining the ROE before leaving deployment and repeat it right before the sneaky part begins. Squadmember still thinks he is rambo -> off he goes.

It depends with who you play, I often lead pub squads, and than its simply a thing really hard to forcome cause you always have some rambo's who need to attack. Its incredibly annoying but I keep hammering on it everytime I begin and start assigning kit. Sometimes its better to avoid a fight for 20 minutes then be in one fight for 5 minutes and end up dying losing everything. You gotta take your time.

A good SL will always mention to their squad to have fire discipline (and explain what this entails).
But still some morons in blue squads are always doing it, and sometimes unfortunately in my squads.
This is why I have 1 golden rule: stay away from other squads on AAS + Insurgency when moving, you can't trust them.

This exactly, as soon as kits are assigned I tell them what to do, anyways I'll start with asking how long they've been playing, often the veterans are more trigger happy then just starting people in my experience

Good Evening,
Yes, telling the folks every time can be ARGH!
Have you ever noticed that when people go to capture a flag, they always rush to the center of the flag radius instead of testing the waters on the edge? I've kept flags for a whole round for example, on Asad Kahl, by just laying down in the wheat fields. People don't look down when they run through grass, they just rush with tunnel vision on what is in front of them. The particular round that I'm talking about, the other side started hollering about a glitched flag because they were all over the center but didn't explore the radius. This also happens a lot in LaDrang.
Such is PR.

Good Evening,
Forgot to add.
Have you noticed that when one becomes commander everyone complains about what the commander is or isn't doing but never will be a commander themselves? Armchair quarterbacks is what I call them.

Ia Drang, swamp. Ia. Ia means river in Vietnamese and there's a (now dry) river running through the map.RAWSwampFox wrote:Good Evening,

But i'll concede that people are woefully predictable on this map. The flag "cutoff platoon" always is defended by a bunch of people grouped on the small islet at the center of the flag. This makes it quite easily for enemies to surround and kill them. My most successful defense of this flag was setting up a FOB on the north end, and just having the whole squad lie in wait in the bushes. When the enemy showed up we ambushed them, this let us control the momentum of the skirmish. It's an almost guaranteed victory when you are fighting 8 men versus 8 and you kill two of theirs before they even know where you are.

Re: Have you noticed......
Good Evening,
Have you noticed that some people are extremely "in your face" about the technical terms of items in the game? Example, APC spotted and someone says, NO, that is an IFV, etc.
Have you noticed that some people are extremely high maintenance giving nothing in return to their team but will be the first to criticize you about your "lack" of teamwork?
Have you noticed that the above people never build FOBS or speak constructively to anyone outside of their "circle" to anyone on their team about anything positive they are doing?
Ok, I'm not going off and calling out anyone by name here ok, I'm just observing human behavior in the game. I think that one can learn a lot about how the game works by simply observing people, how they act, and their stressors when playing. I find that most of the time when people play, they have had a very rough day at work and want to relax but in doing so, take out their frustrations from the day on everyone else. Also, visa versa, if someone has had a great day and relax while playing the game, it makes for a helluva round.

Re: Have you noticed......
I can agree on capping flags quietly and some idiot shoots.
I tend to say: "ROE: Do not fire unless fired upon. Do not let the enemies see you. No comma rose or TK by knife".
OT,
Have you noticed how many pilots don't know how to fly?
Have you noticed that only one person shovels the assets you deploy?
Have you noticed all the idiots who think they are good at assets claim them every round?
Oh, wait.... forgot one.
Have you noticed the logi driving past you when you are tracked and he doesn't drop repair station?

Re: Have you noticed......
Good Afternoon,
Have you noticed that when you need a logi at main, they are all by fobs out in the field and they sit there most of the round?
Have you noticed that the vast majority of the times only 2 SL's / Squads build fobs all round? Funny thing, played Muttrah on HOG two days ago and I came into the game at 2:55 or before. There was only 1 fob in the whole map for blufor. I built 5 within the last 20 minutes of the game and became the top squad in points and it was me and 1 sq member only building fobs so don't say that deploying the fobs gave me all the points.
Have you noticed that TRANS squads usually only supply their buddies?

I'm sure everyone has noticed that if you throw a hook onto a rooftop, absolutely everyone nearby will immediately climb up even if its the smallest rooftop with **** cover.

Re: Have you noticed......
it's actually important though, if the opponent has BTR80s and BMP-3s then whether it's one or the other makes tank maneuvering very different.RAWSwampFox wrote: Have you noticed that some people are extremely "in your face" about the technical terms of items in the game? Example, APC spotted and someone says, NO, that is an IFV, etc.
Criteria for APC:
- Armoured (must be able to stand 1 LAT in the front arc without exploding, or take zero damage from small arms.)
- Carry personnel (seats that do not require crewman)
- Gun less than 20mm in diameter
Examples: BTR-60 14.5, Stryker .50, AAVP, M113
Criteria for IFV
- Armoured
- Carry personnel
- Gun larger than 20mm, and less than 40mm
BMP-2, MTLB 30mm, Bradley, Warrior, Puma, LAV-25
Criteria for Tank
- Armoured
- Gun larger than 40mm
- That's it, it can be wheeled, it can carry troops, whatever
Neither APC, Tank or IFV: BRDM, Scimitar, Panther CLV
Generally these are "scout vehicles". They perform recon, fire support and interdiction.
Not only are these kinds of things important for telling friendlies quickly and accurate what they're facing, but their roles are different. People seem to think that IFV crews that use their vehicle as an offensive interdiction or fire support assets are using it unrealistically, which is not true. What's the point of a giant cannon and missile battery if you're a taxi
Also these things are important for asset claiming. I've been accused of asset stealing for taking a Scimitar when an APC squad exists. How does it follow that a squad named armoured personnel carrier holds a vehicle that cannot carry personnel.

Re: Have you noticed......
Best way to use the weapon imo. Supressive fire is overrated, only in certain situations does it really work.elerik wrote: Have you noticed when somebody have AR or sit behind HMG ussualy fire like marksmen and wait to se enemy and not suppressing ? (role of this kits)
