Details about how rally points work

Post by fatalsushi83 »

Have a few questions about rally points:

1. How far away from enemies do you have to be to place one?
2. What exactly makes a rally point disappear?
3. Are there any benefits to placing one close to a fob?

Thanks!

https://www.realitymod.com/manual/pr_manual.pdf page 27 I think the manual is still correct...hehe

1) 2x grids
2) 2x Enemies within 2 grids will destroy the rally point, also direct fire will destroy it
3) Placing within 2 grids of a FOB/APC/Friendly flag will mean the rally will not expire, outside of these zones it is only a temporary spawn point

Warning - Avoid placing the rally point directly ON the FOB as this will make it difficult for the rest of the team to spawn

A rally points also disappears after 1 minute when not in range of a FOB (2x Big grids), an APC/IFV (2x Big grids) or in range of a own flag (2x big grids).

Little rant: To be fair the rally point system makes for arcade style of gameplay.

About APC\IFV stuff - if you're placed rally in supported range, but vehicle drove out - will rally remain?

Did you actually test out what you've heard or is it hearsay?
Good Evening,

I don't know about the 10 intel points but the 10 tickets is urban legend. I have heard this since .8x and used to quote the page number of the manual regarding this. I also physically tested it on an empty server with only two people to verify that the commander, when he is killed or dies, only uses as many tickets as anyone else.

I've heard 10, 15, 20, 25, 50, and even 100 tickets were lost when a commander has died. I have debunked this urban legend so many times that it is like beating a dead horse.

BTW, thanks for all the answers. I like how the distances vary based on map size.

Alright. I've cleaned this thread up, regarding the random guesses concerning FCV's rally bug.

FCV, along with CIA and HOG, have been testing development code on their servers for me, and apparently this bug was introduced then.

Nothing to worry about, the license was not breached.

I am now playing in FCV, and was dead, the medic revived me, after 30 seconds I was dead again, and it was still possible to revive me again ...

Why is testing happening on multiple public servers? Don't you have a test server?

I haven't decided that yet.

Is this not intended? I figured it had changed in 1.0 and I just didn't read that part of the manual.
