Additional non-parsable characters are at the end of the string.

Post by melech874 »

It is my very first time loading the game when I load the game it shows this image after choosing a profile

Currently have windows 8.1 and the game I bought it through amazon download it already came with patch 1.5

Every time I install battlefield 2 complete I need to go through this process to put the given amazon cd key to play online
http://help.ea.com/en/article/error-cdk ... id-cd-key/
I put capitals in all the cdkey letters

I downloaded the game from:
Project Reality v1.1 Mod for Battlefield 2 - Free video game downloads, news, reviews, videos, patches, demos, screenshots and more at AtomicGamer

here is what notepad gave me:
notepad

Delete your CD Key using this program:
http://files.ancientdev.com/prbf2/PRDeleteKey.exe

Open PRLauncher, it will ask you to enter your CD Key. Do that, then launch the game. It will ask you to update. Do that, then you're good to go.

What happens if this error shows without the PR launcher?

So, when you click to start PRLauncher, even before PRlauncher window shows on screen, you are getting this error message?

Can you see if you have the prlauncher.log error log file,
should be located at Battlefield 2\mods\pr\bin\prlauncher.log
(location dependent on where you installed BF2.)

Open it with notepad, copy it all and paste it in this thread, should help us identify the source of the problem.

Hiya Bumbleknox,

quick questions:
does normal BF2 singleplayer work?
what version of PR did you download?

This should fix your problem.
NOTE: WRITE DOWN YOUR CDKEY before deleting it in the program linked below. Just for safe keeping.

Hey. Yes battlefield 2 singleplayer does work and unfortunately I do not know what version it is, but I think it is the latest. Also I already did delete my CD key, hopefully it's not a problem. But thanks for you help so far.
