Yes it makes sense, thanks for the reply, i wish i had the will to install bf2 and all the patches again and use a different key though, for some reason the patches take a while on my computer and its not even bad.

You can download the 1.2 ISO directly, so no patching required from that version except for the small gamespy bugfix to 1.2.1.0

But get in touch with Litoralis, I think he knows how to change your CD key without reinstalling.

cost a Mc donalds meal on steam, about 9 euros I believe for the complete edition which I bought.

Try to buy it on steam and avoid the origin version.

I already uninstalled the game unfortunately and then came on here to check on the replies, i should have come on here first in hindsight, thanks for the help anyway.

I've seen BF2 go for $4 USD on Amazon. Since you didn't want EA to get the money, there is the solution.

Why would you people even buy it on there to begin with? I've heard there's huge amounts of install issues with Steam and sometimes Origin.

Hello everyone thanks for all the replies, i have managed to resolve the issue by re installing and using a key i received, project reality is now working perfectly fine. I believe someone was correct when they said that someone must have previously used the same key and got it banned from all the servers and this is what was causing the issue so thanks again everyone.

TL;DR. Oh my god. We banned illegitimate cd keys because hackers and griefers use them as a disguise (since a cd key is one of the many components of identification) whenever they want to ruin the server's fun.
