CTD Whenever a game is launched

Hello boys and girls! Wanting to relive old moments from my =BIB= days in battlefield I went and got the torrent version of project reality. I have a legit install with all the expansion packs and N@W installed. However when I go and try and play PR, I can idle in the menus indefinitely, but if I try and start a game or join a game the mod will CTD no questions asked the instant I hit start local/join game; BF2 Vanilla and N@W work fine. I also installed an update when prompted to by the launcher.

I tried a few things, mainly starting in 800x600 low details, reinstalling, reinstalling PB, trying to play without the update the launcher prompted me to install, disabled every program with an overlay, and also tried to play in windowed mode to force an error message which is below.




I suspected that this could be a corrupted download or update so I checked the MD5 hashes of some of the files but I couldn't find a current hash to compare it to.

Setup.exe was 3a0a49e3c843039c775eb1e4ed353218
prbf2_1.2.0.0_full.iso was d4442d390e3d8dcd86aeba45a40f6b23

I am tired so I am putting this up, it is quite possible I overlooked something.

Last but not least system information, please note that I haven't installed the update from the launcher this time, this is irrelevant though because it doesn't work either way. Thanks for any help in advance.

That has already been done in my previous troubleshooting and has no effect on the functionality of the game.

Can you post your PR error log found in your /mod/pr/bin/PRLauncher.log

It'll probably be the same as the above but it may yield more information.

I have not, I haven't played online since the day before gamespy shutdown.

to

2. download a copy of my game directory
place it at
C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\Battlefield 2\mods\pr\python\game

Still CTDs upon starting a game with a slightly different error message

I have fixed the issue. Apparently my entire 1.5 patch was somehow corrupted, I don't know how I was able to play normal BF2 or N@W with it but I completely uninstalled BF2 and reinstalled it along with all the patches and it is now in proper working order.

I had that 59Hz **** on an MSI laptop, BF wouldn't play because of it, luckily I had locally bought it from a decent shop who removed and replaced it to 60.
