Sudden bad performance

Post by Zahj »

Hi, I've recently been getting bad performance. I don't measure FPS but lately I have been having noticeable performance problems.

When I first got my computer I played the game just fine on high settings, now it seems it can't even run the game on low. Maps used to load before the loading music even finished, now I run through the entire song and its only at 15%.

I don't have any perceivable problem from other more demanding games such as BF4 or Assassins creed unity.

I've tried reinstalling, defragging my HDD, updating my video drivers, and terminating other applications through task manager (IE: Steam, origin, skype, antivirus) before I play but so far neither of those have solved my problems.

Please, does anyone have any other ideas?

hiya Zahj,

Memory: 6.00 GB
DIMM Modules: DIMM1: 2.00 GB @ 1600 MHz
DIMM2: 4.00 GB @ 1600 MHz
Do you actually have 6GB of RAM, or is one of your 4GB sticks broken?

try a 3rd party defrag program that consolidates files by directory structure, such as mydefrag.com and the user forum script for the steam directory.
Download and install
[Script] Games Optimization Script for Data Disk

Multisampling: 8x
change to 4x or 2x

and Change everything else to medium. Low is actually worse for performance for PR. (voodoo idk why)
Primary Playback: Speakers (Logitech USB Headset)
Primary Recording: Microphone (Logitech USB Headse
Try disabling the logitech software, then/or disabling the USB headset in your My COmputer->Manage->Device manager.

... These are kind of random suggestions because your system looks fine from your spec report.

Another thing, and I'm pretty certain this should be investigated,
what firewall do you have?
what antivirus do you have?

It's possible they autoupdated and the settings to do deep packet inspection on compressed files was reset to default ON, with all of BF2 and PR's compressed files it causes this type of random FPS stuttering.

Make sure to turn off all your 3rd party overlay programs, TS3, overwolf, msi afterburner, skype, fraps, etc.
