Managing available axes for Battlefield 2

Hello everyone! I'd like to know what the current maximum axes or controllers which Battlefield 2 can manage to utilize. I currently have an X55 Hotas plugged in along side rudder pedals which provide 3 other axes. Everything worked fine before I recently got my rudder pedals back in action. Because of all the axes it provides, Battlefield 2 doesn't seem to be able to detect or assign an axes in game for the throttle of the X55. I'd like to know if anyone has a workaround or solution for my dilemma.

If it is possible, as I don't know how, I could provide a list of all the controllers I have plugged in currently if that could lead to a solution. In any case, Happy New Years guys!
