The story for Jabal is that the MEC dictator wanted to build a dam that makes absolutely no sense, and that would flood the city. The civilians of Jabal tweeted out for US help, and of course they had to send the marines to stop the massacre!

Sbeneh, SAF forces trying to stop an area where supplies for rebels was flowing into Damascus. Based off real events.
Shikotan, the people of the island want to leave Russia as they have a mix of Japanese and Russian culture and dont care for the tension over the island. (hopefully this map will be removed soon).

Povlosk bay is an assault on a Russian naval base, not really liberating or anything, just an attack.

Qwai is in China iirc, so it isn't liberating, same with Shijia

No, the AAS version is about a fight over oil between Russia and China, as there is a big propaganda billboard that says "This city supports the Resource campaign" or something like that. The INS version is most likely about some chinese separatist faction.

Pavlovsk is just a straight up super power vs super power strategic engagement :) no good vs evil

Pavlovsk Bay is a submarine base that was mothballed after the fall of the Soviet union. This has been reactivated to support the Russian military's growing need to establish dominance over it's own coastline in the wake of new conflicts with NATO. The USMC saw an opportunity to damage this capability before the base goes fully operational as well as to deliver a psychological blow to the Russian military with a strike so close to Vladivostok and the Russian Pacific fleet. The Russians are taken aback by this somewhat bold move, but the Russian quick reaction forces arrive soon; perhaps the USMC has overreached it's grasp in Russia's back door and will pay dearly for it...

Burning Sands; probably fighting over oil or something

War with the Middle East Coalition has reached fever pitch, British forces have taken control of an airport near a large urban center with the intention of controlling the highway and routing MEC forces from the area. If successful this will be a strategic success, however the MEC are fully aware of the stakes. The city's defenders have retreated to reform with their armoured compatriots to force the British from their land. The British may have the airport secured, but the defenders of the city are fighting for their people in their own homeland. The resulting violence will leave the sands scorched and stained with blood.

Hades Peak - 32 is supposed to be a kind of NATO Kosovo type thing, 64 is just plain strategic engagement again.

On the frontline in Eastern europe stands the ominous tip of Hades Peak, a forested mountain the gives sweeping views of the surrounding valleys. Whoever holds this strongholds controls the main road through the area as well as the ability to observe for miles around. Both sides understand that if they are to control this area, Hades Peak must be taken or all their efforts will be for nought.
