im considering getting into this game, but need to know if theres anyone even on it , anymore. ive grown bored with bf4 . I need realism . Ive seen some videos , and am willing to give it a go.

It's sufficiently active to play. There aren't many populated servers at any given time, but there's always at least one server full of people. If you're American, you'd probably mostly play on HOG and PRTA-NA servers, and if you're on the East Coast, you should also be able to comfortably play on PRTA-EU, which is active during European hours.

It's active.... not like what it was a few years ago. But it's still active. Just make sure you follow rules and do not use assets that you never used before. (Practice using assets in a local server/Coop/Training Server).
Personally, around the 1:30pm east time zone to about 5:30pm east time you will find it a lot more populated. On weekends especially. (The best time IMO to be on is between those times... you'll meet some great players and teamwork is amazing.)
