Can hear other squads

Post by Raidonrai »

Only recently installed PR but whenever I hop in to a game, it seems as though I am hearing other squads voice chat alongside my own.

Whenever someone speaks in local or in my own squad chat, it will notify me on the left who is talking and in what channel, as it is supposed to. This extra chatter, however, isn't showing any visual indication of who is talking.

This is making it extremely difficult to play the game effectively when I'm having to try and pick out a single persons voice from amongst three other people all talking at the same time.

Edit: Okay so I've just fiddled around with some stuff and this is very strange.

I use my speakers as default output for audio, and my headset for communications output. This is purely to avoid having some bloke screaming over my speakers at four in the morning.

I changed my communications output device to my speakers and the issue went away immediately, I can only hear people that are in my squad/local and there is no background chatter. The second I swap back to using my headset for communications, it's back again. For now I suppose I will just have communications come out of my speakers as well but it's just something odd that's worth noting.

What headset are you using? Is it USB?

If your USB headphones has software, and that software/drivers has "simulated surround sound " positional audio, that might be the reason, maybe.

USB headphones can do a few other weird things too, so need the make and model number to give you more answers.
