Kit Loadout

I just had a cool idea when playing singleplayer. Why not be able to create a personal charecter w/ his own personal kit? For example you could have an M4 with a medic kit or C4 with an m16, etc. And what you carry would depend of how fast you run and the distance.

yeah, it's cool but it should be a seperate mod. i mean in the real army you don't get to choose what weapons you like, it depends on in which branch you are. and this is a realism mod after all.

Wll yes and no. The U.S. army lets you choose your weapon depending of your situation/rank/position. You never see a picture of a guy carrying an at4 and also has a mp5... never...ever...

while on that subject you should be only able to carry one at4 and they WILL kill in one hit.

And maybe more into the whole weapon mods, i.e. all current m16's have a flattop reciever with a rail, you can put a scope or anything on.

Your suggestions are inconsistent with the goals of this mod.

You get your weapon based on what the chain of command deem is necessary to your unit type, unit position and mission requirements.

Mission requirements might entail the need for a breaching or less-lethal tool, so someone might be assigned to carry a shotgun.

Your unit position may be based on your proven capabilities:

"You've consistently shot Expert, here's your squad designated marksman rifle"
"You're the next most senior man in the fire-team and have proven yourself as a competent rifleman, here's your SAW"
"You've demonstrated proficiency for a few years, here's your fire team and an M203 if you want to carry it, or you can stick it with your senior rifleman and make him your grenadier"

Or, it may just be:
"You're big, here's your machinegun"
"You look like a nerd, here's your platoon radio"
"Nobody else wants to carry this, here's your squad medical bag and we're sending you to a Combat Lifesaver course"

Special operations forces might get some more leeway, since the operators tend to be more experienced soldiers and their input may be taken under consideration, but the operations order and loadout is is still determined/approved by the platoon/detachment commander or team leader and his second in command, team sergeant/chief, etc.

Yes, you should only be able to carry one AT4 along with your fighting load, and we will fix that. Killing in one hit is a big if, depending on what you're firing at and where you hit it. Against the most modern main battle tanks and IFVs with applique armor, even a shot in the rear isn't a guarantee. M136 (AT4) and other disposable light anti-armor weapons are meant to be fired en masse in volleys against a significant armor threat by infantry that do not have attached or integral ATGM / reusable recoilless weapon support.

Not all of them. In the Marines, the M16A2 is still in service with combat units who have not yet received M16A4s, and with combat support and service support units (who may or may not eventually receive M16A4s over the next few years). The M16A2 is also still in service in the US Army, as not all units have been or likely will be equipped with M4s.

So, in regards to your suggestion, your kit will be somewhat selectable using the unlockable weapons option and individual kits will vary by map, so some different combinations are possible. Being completely customizable is not realistic in a nation-state professional military setting, and probably not possible within the engine limitations.
